Hey everyone:
I'm not looking for that big massive best sound speakers out there. I am on about a $1400-$1500 budget to get me by. Cheaper is obviously ok.
These speakers will be used in a small venue, in which only holds..oh..130 people max.
I prefer powered speakers.
Now when I say sound...I am talking something decent. Not muddy and such.
Give me some options/ideas...I am very open right now.
If I had a bigger budget, I already know what my choice would be....but at this time..I can't make that jump.
I will need these before April 25, as I attempt my first triple booking. =)

! LOL ask 10 DJ's and you could get 10 differant answers. I can tell you what not to buy,any Mackie powered speaker!! They are having way to many falure rates since being bought out by loud tech. I speak with experiance on this! I own them (2-SA1530z's and 2-SWA1801z's) any Mackie speaker that has a "z" at the end Run!! I run all powered speakers JBL, QSC,Yorkville & Mackie, with the $$ you have in your buget there is no way right now you can aford mains & subs unless you go the cheap route(off brands). I like the 3 way speakers QSC HPR153i or 1530's due to the low end (most small venues I don't need subs) but the price is high $1200 each for the QSC's $1300 on the Mackies. 1 would kill you buget! So your going to want to get the most bang for the buck. It comes down to basics, wood cabs will always sound better than the plastic cabs the trade off is weight (to me its worth it) A 15" LF driver will tend to give better punch than a 12". So look at a good 2 way with a 15, as mentioned EV's are good I just dont know the series or model #'s QSC HPR 152i, JBLPRX, Yorkville unity(they have other lines you could also look into) RCF (Yorkville & RCF tend to be pricey) don't get me wrong the plastic cabs are not bad I own a pair of JBL EON15 G2's they are a great speaker! I just like wood cabs. One draw back to the JBL EON line is that the LF driver is moulded into the case so you can't just replace the driver you would need to have it reconed (long down time). Hope some of this helps & Happy hunting
