Got a call from the wife saying the laptop shut down and when it restarted it gave a failure message... "Sorry for the inconvience but Windows XP failed to start properly. This could be because of a recent hardware or software change." WTF!?!
I haven't changed ****.... although I will say I have been haveing problems with my USB ports shutting the computer down when devices are plugged in or out of them... so it is possible that there is some sort of hardware failure.
I had my wife try to restart into safe mode and last known good configuration... and got squat.... it looks like it will boot then the BSOD flashes breifly and we are back to the screen that asks you if you want to boot normally or into safe mode.
I wont know for sure what is wrong until I get home but my guess is restoration might not work either if it truely is a hardware issue... I'm crossing my figures that it does work 'cause I have a client meeting tomorrow at 11am and told them I'd show them how to use the site...
