Houston, spill the beans!!!!!

Ok it is xmas day... where is the info???

Ok this post proved several things.
1. Those with the Boat anchors showed that they were not too loyal to those amps and that they drooled at the prospect of owning a Rolls Royce for peanuts.
2. Most important, you all failed to correctly interpret the message. Just look at the first two words! "Just imagine". You may as well be in a field laying on your back with a straw weed in your mouth looking up at the sky wishing for something.
3. As the old adage goes "If it sounds too good to be true it probably is!"
4. This is not suited for April 1st. Its called misinterpretation of communication. The English language as ambiguous as may be can sometimes be so simplistic that we go out of our way to make it complicated.

Just imagine, if you only took the time to read and not jump the gun! Oops too late to present the Dynacord wish to Santa! He's probably back in the North Pole listening to his Dynacord pushing his big speakers! Not that he has to worry about disturbing the neighbors! Now go wish for something for your birthday (A new Dynacord perhaps? Ben can make yer a deal I'm sure!) Bye now! :sqwink:

Excuse me sir Houston!

I take exception to your above post sir, the fact is you failed to mention that all but ONE person would have jumped at the chance had it truly been offered. As you will note there was one would said they would be glad to take any PEAVEY amps off of Dynacords hands and even offered to pay the shipping!:sqwink:

That my friend is a true believer!:sqlaugh:

And a merry friggin' Christmas to you, too. :D

Seriously, I'm glad I didn't get caught up in this one. Like most of us here we're happy with our business equipment and see no need to replace it.

For those of yas who'd like some quality business gear, give Ben or Kat a call. They won't give it away but I'll wager that they will go above and beyond for customer satisfaction. :)

You Sir are more than correct! I apologize. You stood by your guns! You put together your gear and you have confidence in knowing what it can do for you. I stand corrected.

I made so statement about trading mine in, but was curious what the point was.

"and the beat goes on....... la la la la la !"

Like wise. I was curious, But i'm a proud QSC guy.

I happen to really like my big tower of power...

If i was gonna trade up, I'm pretty sure it would be for some 1 rack space Powersoft's.

I would trade one of my QSC 2402s (got 2) for a Dynacord but you can't have my Yammies :sqwink:

Now I would have traded any of you guys my two Dynacord built EV amps for any Peavey amp just a few years ago!

Nothing proved with this except that most people, most smart people, would willingly exchange well-used, back-up, old, or retired equipment for brand new, equivalent or better equipment. Wow! What a Revelation.

Intelligent people trade in perfectly good used cars hourly for new, improved, or different vehicles. I guess they are just disloyal rubes...puleeze!

Calling amplifiers boat anchors is nothing new. I have proudly used Peavey CS-X amplifiers for decades, still own many, and have always called them that...BECASUE THEY WEIGH AS MUCH AS A SHIP'S ANCHOR.

I also use, on my higher end system, Crown amplifiers. I love them. In a few year's if you make a swap offer in which I can obtain an equal number of equal or better pieces, I'll gladly let you have the used pieces for shiny new Crowns. I be a Houston Nutt not to!:sqwink:

P.S. re:

The correct saying is: " if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." Your adage is off a bit, like completely.

Wow! I guess you are right, eh! OK I am going off to the corner!

Thunder, my friend, let the record show that the EV amps you had were made BEFORE Dynacord was acquired by Telex and began making amps for EV.

Ben

Sorry Ben,

I thought Michael said Dynacord started producing "ALL" EV amps in 1998! Since the EV 7600's were purchased new around 2001 I only "assumed" that Michael was correct!:sqwink:

Steve - It was 1998 when all EV amplifier production began moving from Buchanan, Michaigan to Straubing Germany as a result of the Telex/EV/Dynacord, etc. merger which occurred in 1997. I am not certain what exact date EV amps made in Buchanan completely ceased production.

As far as your particular amp - is this the one?

http://archives.telex.com/archives/EV/Amplifiers/EDS/7600 EDS.pdf

If so, I can for certain tell you this one was never made in Germany at all. Perhaps you just bought one of our amps during a time when the guys in Michigan knew they would soon be out of a job. There is no doubt however that any EV / Dynacord amp you buy today will be of the highest possible quality.

Yes! That would be the exact one!

Damn you guys are starting to confuse me "it is", "it isn't", "it could be", "it wasn't"!

So are you saying now that after 1998 "ALL" EV amps were not made by Dynacord?

That some EV amps were still made by "EV" production?

That no one is really sure what EV amps were made where by whom? :sqlaugh:

It is quite simple...your amp was made in Buchanan, Michigan by EV. All amps are now made in Germany by Dynacord.

any more questions?

Go have a stiff shot o' Bourbon and it will all become clear to you!
