I might be suppling music for a new pro basketball team. I was thinking about music while trying to say away from music that’s been overplayed. (We Will Rock You, Rock and Roll Part 2)

This is just the start of my list.

In The Stone – Earth, Wind, & Fire (Intro of basketball team)
Let’s Get Loud – Jennifer Lopez
Stadium Rave – SpongeBob
I Like To Move It – Madagascar
The Power – Snap
Gonna Make You Sweat – CC Music Factory

What other songs would you use?

Mas Tequila - Sammy Hagar & the Waboritas

Prodigy- Firestarter
Rammstein-Du Hast
Public Enemy-Fight The Power
James Brown (anything)
Free-Alright Now
Bachman Turner Overdrive- You aint Seen Nothin Yet
KC and the Sunshine Band- Get Down Tonite

all in a moment of thought

oh and for shiz and giggles find some accordian music as bumper instead of the standard organ music. Perhaps some Polka Your Eyes Out courtesy of Weird Al.

If this is an NBA operation, You will likely have a very specific playlist and will need to learn their software and hardware interface.

P.S. Check your PMs.

Don Omar-Donqueo:sqlaugh:

Throw in some Godsmack, Disturbed, Alice in Chains...

Along with the typical Jock Jams stuff, or more modern catchy pop/hip hop stuff.

Public Enemy - He Got Game
Chumba Wumba - Thumbthumping...lol.
Alan Parsons - Sirius
Metallica - Orion
Pat Benatar - Hit Me With Your Best Shot

Not trying to sound to out of place or anything guys, but as a sports DJ covering alot of sports including university basketball...

Almost all of the songs you guys listed are on my playlist...

Now thats probley a good thing since its all sports related :sqlaugh:

But its not out of the ordinary like you asked for...its almost the common excluding rap and hip hop which is also very popular

Id also reccomened alot of organ songs...these are also called crowd motivators or call response (getting the crowd to respond)

there are also very strict rules to basketball music and the NBA is the only leauge were you are allowed to play the music during play of the game, for AUS (Atlantic university sport, under the Canadian University Sports) your only allowed to play music for; Warmup, Timeouts, In between quarters, Halftime and End of game.

Oh and Rock and Roll Part 2 is more of a hockey song :sqwink:

"We're An American Band" (Grand Funk)
"American Girl" (Petty) -- for the cheerleeder routines

ABA stands for "American Basketball Association"

Knowing what the mascot name or type of animal is would help.

if the team is called the "Cougars" -- play John Cougar Mellencamp songs (just an example).

I like those instrumental "Techno" songs -- they aren't overplayed (to the masses) and they will get the sparse crowds pumped up.

"Sandstorm" (Darude)
"Oxygen" (Jean michel Jarre') -- from "Pure Moods"
"Children" (Robert Miles)
"Zombie Nation" (Kernkraft 400) --- probably the most popular of these techno anthems and may be overplayed in some cities, but not Sacramento where the Kings are the only pro franchise in town.
