I know there are some coastal dweallers here, SVO, ahoustondj, bryan durio, and of course ya'll floriders, DJ Bob, et. al.

As you know Ike is in the gulf, already had a cancellation, a school for friday, the dang thing isn't going to hit here ugh. LOL you'd think they'd already go and cancel school.

Anyways, any similar woes out there?

I put up a Detour sign at the bottom of my street! It worked the last time! :sqlaugh:

Travis, I feel your pain brother. In 2004 when it was our turn to catch all the storms I did have cancellations, which sux because I have a money-back clause in my contract in case of hurricane cancellations.

I haven't had any cancellations so far this year due to hurricanes, but this is also our real slow season down here in Fla.

Hang in there, next month will be better

Here's something similar.

Ever since the forecasters blew it when predicting the "flurries" that turned out to be the Blizzard of '78, just about every major snow storm in the Northeast is called "potentially the Storm of the Decade" by at least one forecaster, getting everyone hyped of course.

Stuff gets cancelled left and right so New Englanders get in their cars and drive to the Mall anyway. More often than not the weather folks later report that we "dodged another bullet".

My question is:

"Will IKE beat on Texas the same way he did to Tina Turner???"

probably not. He's gonna be a big wife-beating DUD!

(at the very least, he'll hit some illegal immigrant trailer parks in Rio Grande valley......and send 'em back to Mexico......LOL)

Be careful out there!!!!

You guys & gals in the Houston area, better join the crowd and get the heck outta there! Better to be safe than sorry. (Sorry for the cliché.)

Problem with leaving is that they don't let you come back in right away after the storm. I am bagging my laptop and Hard drives in waterproof plastic bags and putting them in a sealed waterproof container before taping it shut with lots of duct tape. I just pray that I don't loose my roof.
If I get wiped out I just may have to come up and work for one of you multi-ops!

If I was up there I would hunker down, I always have supplies and if something happens I can move on into my parents house or boat ;)
