Alright, I am in the process of all this.

I have a 500 gb hard drive. Picked it up yesterday. Ordered the computer last night, bought MediaMonkey Gold this morning. Will order Rockit when the computer gets here.

I loaded the media Monkey and it put in all my files but I think I will clear it out and just use it for the CDs and do them all new.

Pretty simple so far. Trying to find a way to get rid of the duplicates. Does anyone who uses this know how to do that? Again, just for future reference because I a going to clear it out when I start ripping my CDs.

I am so glad I found this place. No other DJ board is as helpful without being jerks also.
 
I kind of am. I am excitedly nervous. Not too smart when it comes to all this so it is a new adventure for me.

I know you guys will help all you can. Rick may be getting a call when I am at my first wedding with this when I can't figure something out. Hopefully not.

Hey Karl I did my first dance with a computer in 2000 when there was very little advice and a borrowed copy of Mixmeister 1. I can tell you I know what you are feeling but it will work out

Click on files to edit on sidebar then duplicate Titles...
 
I will carry the External as back up and I am sure for quite sometime I will carry the CDs. The external won't do any good if the computer fails but if it is something else, it will work.

Cds will stay in the vehicle unless needed.
 
Backup...

Karl you could also ask for a Cortex 1000 for Christmas :) the prices have dropped and all the bugs have been ironed out...

Nice Backup ....Just make sure you do a very good job of tagging your files and testing for bad tracks etc.
 
My wife and I were talking about this. This will be a project that probably won't get finished until next wedding season. Over the winter I will get most of it done.

School starts next week. I still have 11 weddings left this year. Deer hunting takes a week. My wife and I are looking into another business venture (which I will show you guys when it is up and running).

Busy Busy.
