... no not a new idea but it was a great one that she shared with me that helped get past a logistical problem I was having with how I'd hang my new lights....

I came out complaining that when I hung the new DJ Scans with the mirrors up the combined weight caused the t-bar to rotate down in the T-connector.

So the wife says why don't you mount them to a steal pole.... and I said what do you mean....

And she went on to describe a vertical setup instead of horizontal.... and the lights went on for me....

I have two unused speaker stands that have a 1" pole in them and I can take my O-Clamps and mount one light to each and still have my T-Bar for my color palettes and mini line dancers....

So my final thought is to have the T-bar with the Color pallets mounted to the extreme ends of the t-bar with the mini line dancers centered and then placed directly behind my L1, with the two DJ Scans on separate stands flanking either side. Finally my Vue III placed directly if not on the front of the L1 Base....

I think this will work.... thanks wifey!
 
No way to pin the T connection is plastic... so I also couldn't tighten it any more than it is without possible breakage....

I really need to upgrade to a truss system but as funds are low this solves the problem in the short term....

What I'd really like is a setup like what Nextgen has with the triangle truss.

Seriously, not that it was that original of an idea in the first place the very fact that she had that idea and thought outside the box is awesome.... you have to understand for the most part my wife shows only apathy for what I do and no real interest... except when I get paid then she's all about it!

I was proud of her for having such a great idea!

What sucks is I currently don't have anything lined up that will be using lighting until Sep 27th but if I get an opportunity to shoot some pics of it setup in my house while I'm programing I'll post those....

When I take them out for the show I'm going to shoot both photo's and video because I need to start collecting images for a demo DVD I want to create.

What you need to imagine the color pallets shown in this picture would be spread much further appart and a set of mini line dancers would be set between them and then stationed behind my L1...

So if you look at the next picture you can see where I'm going with this.... by moving the t-bar as pictured behind the L1 then flanking with the DJ Scans and placing the Vue III either on the base of in front of the L1 base I get a more unified setup instead of the spread out unbalanced look of the photo below...

Anyone know where I can get my hands on the plastic inserts to the O-clamps to take them to 1"... I lost one half of one of mine and need one insert so that I can mount my second DJ Scan....

Yeah the clamps I got came with two sets... so that they could be used on 2", 1.5" and 1" tubes....

So far I've only found clamps for 2", 1.5" and 1" but not as a set all individual clamp sizes... since.
