This is always such a wonderful family to play for. This was my 5th time in 6 years to party with them. They come from all over the states back home and enjoy a whole weekend of celebrating together. They always treat me like family. And, we always have a good time.

The family has couples celebrating 33, 39, 41, 56 & 61 years of marriage with two more being married 20-24 years.

Last minute they requested that I play some Big Band Swing type & oldies for the first 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Ruth, who's 93 years old, was on the floor from the first song to the last one. She would not stop even when encouraged to take a rest by some of her daughters. You could see that she was having the time of her life. During the show later, I played Al Martino's 'I Love you Because' & dedicated it to her for her ever faithful serving to her family. She came up after the song with several tears in her eyes and gave me a big hug. Her daughter Marilyn who is the one that hires me came up afterwards and told me she couldn't quit talking about how great the music was and how I always made her feel so special. That's something that touches me and makes what I do enjoyable.

Playlist enclosed. I'll try to round up some photos. My gig camera is finally giving out and the flash was really acting up last night.

Ah Randy what a fun playlist! I would have enjoyed that one also!

Keep on Swinging and Rocking! :)

Take out a few of those hip-hop songs and it would be perfect for me! :D

Gonna have to check this one out as I'm unfamiliar with this one:

Billy Dean - Play Something We Can Dance To

I generally don't play much hip hop at this show, but there were a few youngsters that came up begging. I held my breath as I started the first one and announced 'by request.....'. To my amazement, even the older folks stayed on the floor. Go figure! :)

Randy I have always said get the elder guests involved and gain their respect and you will guide them through the young folks portions as well due to the respect and appreciation for taking care of them first. Great list and totally mixed with smooth directional changes. As I read the list I envisioned the elderly folks getting down to Kung fu Fighting LOL!!
