Guests - 110
Time: 4 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Location: Crystal Palace (Ramada Inn)

Once again - bulk of the crowd split after dinner; 45 to 50 for dancing. Really had to take control of this reception (ie. pace it, get grace said, etc.)

Not real pleased being so far off the dance floor...it is what it is.....

I'm posting the comments received from the bride....not so much to "blow my own horn"....but to illustrate that what we think aren't great events, or we feel perhaps we aren't on our game......may be exactly opposite what the perception is by the client......

This is the email message:

"Hey I was meaning to write you but still trying to get settled back into life since the wedding. I did your survey, and attached the file back to the email. I just want to comment again on how great you were that night. I want to apologize however for the major change on our enterance it was a little bit of a disaster when andrew's mother and step dad went missing. but thanks for understanding and switching things around for us."

I'd like you to know that most people there complimented me on a great job picking our DJ. They were all very impressed with everything from your music selections to the volume. You played a large part in making our day a great one."

Comments from the Survey:

"Is there anything in particular about the performance that you especially enjoyed or that stands out in your mind?

We found he was able to read the crowd very well, always kept the dance floor full. We also found he paid very close attention to detail like such learning the names of our guests. This was way and beyond his duties.

We are collecting client statements to use on a ‘testimonial’ page on our website. Please use the space below to provide a statement of your opinion of our performance that we may place on our testimonial page.

From the moment of arrival to the last dance the music was awesome. He read the crowd perfectly and kept the dance floor hoping all night long. He was energetic when it came time to get the crowd going and did everything we asked to make our night one to remember. I'd recommend That Music Guy to anyone who's looking to have an absolute perfect wedding dance."

The moral of the story..........Don't be so hard on yourself

Your setup looks much cleaner now.
What do you use for the starball mount?

Another question:
Are you comfortable with 2 star balls above your head level?
Any problem with your eyes?

Exactly. Our ego is our worst enemy. I had one of those wedding 2 years ago. The Bride was a heavy smoker. She had to have one before their F/B dance after talking to her 3 times and making announcement. I was waiting 10 minutes for her with death air. Just didn't click with her that day, had a demanding a**hole all over me and did not feel it was my best performance.

Now get this...I have already booked 2 weddings thanks to that bad day.
Both couples told that they hardly walk back to cars and had amazing time.

So again, Calm your ego down.
