Does anyone process credit cards through Pay Pal? Has anyone had trouble with paypal?
Out of the blue about 10 days ago they put limitations on our account and wanted to verify us a little more. No sweat we sent them everything they asked for
- Articles of Incorporation
- Copy of Business license
- copy of my drivers license
- copy of our EIN form from the government
- copy of my SS Card etc.
They they said ok they'd review and we could be back to normal in 24-48 hours
Then in 24-48 hours we got another email asking for supplier information, did they mean vendors we do business with? We sent them some info on the companies that have open accounts for us. Nope they wanted our supplier information as if we sold tangible goods.
I wrote a letter explaining we were the supplier as we are a DJ Company
then they wrote us again saying they couldnt verify us because we failed to give them our suppliers and also had 2 addresses showing up in searches... well friends we have 2 addresses:
we have a UPS Store address where i initially started out the business as a single op and then we did our original LLC to that address 5 years ago. Then we have the office/warehouse address, which is the address all of our bank accounts and company credit cards go to.
all the while we keep getting deposits through DI
so with $2200 in paypal that cant be moved i refunded everyone and switched to google checkout which did all of our verification up front.
Anyone have similar problems with paypal? Anyone using google check out yet?
I know someone will probably suggest getting a real merchant account which i would do but for two problems, 1 i had a horrible identity theft a couple years back im still recovering from and 2. with all these new identity protection laws coming into play i just rather not have a clients credit card information around the office or on our computers.
I dont think we're going to have many bumps, maybe a few but right now for last week and this week we sent google checkout invoices for final payments for customers who initially paid by credit card and the message in the invoice indicates to have a check ready at the performance if the client is not going to pay the invoice before hand.
Our contract stipulates that the balance is due day of performance.. which i know is an entirely different debate.
feedback is much appreciated even if most of this post is just a rant
