Is anybody playing this? Are you getting requests?

I have not played it, but that is because I keep asking people, including teens, if they even know what this song is. So far I haven't had even ONE person say they know what this song is.

But they sure do know Crank Dat! :sqerr:
 
At my high school reunion I was asked to play it, but I had no idea what it was. The irony is that it comes from a guy in Lafayette, Louisiana, which is 20 miles down I-49 from my high school!
 
Well... I dunno if ya'd call Delaware part of the Northeast. We are North of the Mason-Dixon line, though.

Cupid Shuffle was requested at a recent wedding party. No calls for Crank Dat.
 
I hadn't played it until JT played it at a HS dance a few months ago and got a good reaction. Since then I've played it twice at HS gigs and the kids that know the dance (about half) will get out there and do it...the rest figure it out and join in. It's a good song. More stomachable than the cha cha slide and of course crank dat. I've been having a lot of students wanting "crank dat yank" lately, one of the off shoots or soulja boy's hit.

just curious since you guys with the big screens and projection might like using these songs would it be kosher to teach the kids by using Youtube or such an access for the dance steps posted up on there most often?

Thanks for the props...However, I took a listen to it for the first time through some real speakers in my classroom. I didn't like it. Very thin...crappy mp3 rip.

I need to start over with it using some realy wav's.....

thanks anyway though!
 
It's being used alot here in Boston but mostly among Bar Mitzvah DJs who picked it up at the DJ convention and use it as a follow along dance.

Eventually it will make it's way through the schools just like the Cha Cha slide did after a season of interactive DJs promoting it.
