I've never heard the Growlers. I heard their excellent.
I know the ZXa5's are made in USA. The SXa's made be made in Germany or USA.

Thanx for that tidbit. I'm gonna stay an EV fanboy... ZXa5's and QRX's for my arsenal :yosword: along with Danley subs. All EV loudspeakers except the Live-X are made in the US.
Ben
I am a keyboard player, always looking for the best sound from my keyboards (including a synth). I had been using 2 QSC K12's when I gig, but now with the synth, just wasn't getting what I wanted out of these. I read all the reviews, listened to you-tube, etc. The audio house I bought the ZXA5 from told me to just move up to the new EV ELX series and I would be content. Was not convinced due to the price - - - just appeared to be too "cheap" for what I was after. I finally called EV and talked to a tech, who had no sales ties or responsibilities. He told me that the ELX series would be more of a "side" step for me, rather than a "step" function in improved sound. I then bought the ZXA5.
I now hear sounds from my keyboards I did not previously existed! I have a gig this weekend, and that will be the first time my band mates (blues band and classic rock) will hear this speaker. Looking forward to this!
PS> my keyboards are a Nord Stage 88, Roland Juno Stage, and an Alesis Miniak synth. The ZXA5 reproduces all sounds impeccably.
