I petty much have it with the Bose L1s and Numark D2. I just replaced an old Sure UHF wireless mic with a second ATW 3000 so now I have 2 ATW's rack mounted side by side. I use a Mackie 1501 So maybe I would upgrade the sub. Call me crazy but I replaced a Rane MP24 With a Numark C3 because I like the features of the C3 including a nice built in sound card for when I use my netbook. My light show has a good variety of effects including a Galaxian 3D laser and H2O water effect. My Shure 55SHII
"Elvis" mic gets lots of compliments. I may be a couple thousand over the $12,000 limit

My rig would consist of:

3 Pioneer CDJ 1000's in a custom case.

1 Rane Empath 3 Channel mixer.

Serato SL3..

Mac Book Pro 13" screen

2 Yorkville U15 passive tops

1 QSC PL 340 amp for the tops

2 Yorkville UCS1P subs

2 Elation Design Spot 250's.

That's about it.

Now let's not turn this into a Bose bashing thread....

I've owned a set and they would be very good for even 250+ ppl.

Also because I've owned and used Bose I can safely say that if you want boom then look to something else.... the bass is very rich and sounds great but, it lacks the punch of your typical Sub.

Not bashing, just saying that having used bose and sold mine i know that wouldn't be a dream system....I'm honestly not knocking the Bose as a decent system though

For me, it's the L1 model 2. Offers even more portability. Love the T1 mixer...which can be used with any L1.

total system is:
L1 model 2
T1
Sennhieser ew100 g2 wireless mic
Laptop
Denon HD2500
Pacemaker.

Very small foot print. Quick Set up and tear down. No piece weighs over 22 pounds and everything has handles. Oh yeah, clients love it too.

Mark,,, where is the sub in this picture?

Just add some subs to my ZX5s and I'd be good to go in a heartbeat for the sound... :)

I did a gig reception the other night for about 150 people in a huge ballroom. I used my EV ZXA5s with no subs. It had awesome power & thump.

I even had several people (2 of them were fellow wedding vendors) comment positively to me on the power/thump coming out of these 2 speakers.

Mine has been together for years!

Are we talking about

a 250 person wedding .... A pair of Peavey 118's, a pair of Peavey Impulse 1012's 1 GPS 3500 for the ,mains and 1 GPS 3500 driving the subs!

a 250 person corpoate event .... A pair of Peavey 118's, a pair of Peavey Impulse 1015's 1 GPS 3500 for the ,mains and 1 GPS 3500 driving the subs!

or

a balls to the wall 250 person all out dance party .... 2 pair of Peavey 118's, a pair of Peavey SP4's A pair of Peavey impulse 100s for fill, 1 GPS 3500 for the SP4's, 1 GPS 1500 driving the fills and 4 bridged CS800S amps one for each sub!

It's all already paid for (long ago) so everything is profit anyway!

I would go with EV Qrx.

2 Qrx 112/75
2 Qrx 218s (Ultimately I would like dual 18"s and single 18"s) Most of my events I would like more bass and use duals. Right now I find most nights I could use more than my 2 18"s.

3 - QSC PLX 3602

DBX Drive Rack

Allen & Heath Mix Wizard

Any Note Book around $1000 will work.

4 - Shure Wireless 58's (The $400 ones are fine.)

Lighting:

4 Color Pallettes

2 - LED Scanners

2 - LED Moving Heads

Big barrel scanner like Wizard or EFX 600

Uplighting would be extra.

4 Small LEDs fro truss warmer and fascade lights.

I have the Bose too, but what about the other stuff? Mixers, CD players, controllers, possibly lights?

Yes, I'd also go with a Bose L1, model2 with double subs............but, I'll have to add another powered sub with it. I'm currently stacking a 600-watt, 15", which I place under my table. The tonality of the larger speaker is different that the Bose and for my ears, it's a world of difference.

As for the rest of the components, symantics................

My dream system would be any one that someone else came in, set up, I walked in, pushed play for 4 hours and then left and they took it all down... LOL :)

Do that one too but for more than 250 people!
