To get an estimate of what you might make Multiply the capacity/expected crowd (Be conservative) X Average Spending per person X 10% and you will have an average of what you will receive.

Lets supposed the Capacity/attendance is 200 people
Spending is $30.00 per person

You will expect to get about 200 x $30.00 X 10% = $600.00

As long as you make sure it's 10% of the GROSS, I'd give it a whirl....

I used to work for local bands who were offered a similar deal.
they worked for the door (cover charge)
this wasn't so bad, since the band usually brought out it's own devoted crowd, who would go anywhere they would play.
I don't think this is as good of an offer!

1- you don't have enough "groupies" to fill the place
2- it's a Sunday, and they are depending on YOU to establish it, and probably NOT advertising it, so it'd have to be word of mouth.
3- it's a Sunday, and I would assume that not as many people drink heavily if they work the next day. so even if you get a crowd, you're not guaranteed a decent pay
4- I've seen it happen with playing for door...how will YOU know exactly how much they made on the alcohol? they could tell you they only made $60 when they actually took in much more!

I would ask for a minimum guarantee pay...
with the option to re-negotiate if the night catches on.

This whole thing is exciting Ruben... I'm really looking forward to hearing how it pans out. I've often toyed with the idea of soliciting some "club" or "house" gigs in the area, but have never pursued it... Your "make or break" may determine if I ever get off my arse to try it out!

*btw.. dont forget the pix!*
