Is everyone for real? I have been involved with this skit for yrs. In fact it has been several since the last time It was done at one of my events. It really isnt close to a new thing.
Usually when I play in Maine. But then again they know exactly what the song means.:sqerr:...how many times have we gotten a request for a "questionable" song for a father/daughter mother/son dance...
and had to call the b/g and tell them their mother/son song talks about " making love to you..."
I was checking through the music requests for an upcoming wedding and saw "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" on the must play list. I'll share what I did later but what would you do?
Don't be dissing the Dan Band. No, the worst to me was *Total Eclipse of the Heart* by the Dan Band..Lots of F** in it...You've lost is a piece of cake...
That is one of the most refreshing f@#$ing acts I've seen in a long time. I would love to see them live and I'd love to use that song his way at any wedding.Actually had a Naval aviator as a groom and they wanted it as a joke. I got a chair and had the Bride sit in it and gathered the guys aound her.
Stupid Trivia Time....
Did you know that radio jocks of the time would actually refuse to play anything by the Righteous Brothers?
Why? Because they thought they were black.

No need to get to defensive, Tom has left the building. Now we can say what we really think. What does it matter? She requested it.
It's a great song. I've played it at gigs for years. For someone at the gig to be too concerned about the lyrics, they need to get over it. There are far worse songs to play.

Please list your source. The is the first time I've heard of this.
Well I had heard something to that tune Joke but dont recall where. Seems my father told me the story. I do know that Buddy Holly was invited to perform at the Apollo cause the promoters thought he was black.
maybe it was the Everly Brothers.
