As you get older and compete in a younger man's game,,, would you have any plastic surgery to keep a youthful look....

I'm not talking a "Joan Rivers" scary make over.... but maybe a chin tuck, or eyes.... would you?

When I get to that Stage I won't DJ anymore. I am thankful that I look much younger than my age and have the health and vitality to continue. I am grateful that I don't have to complain about "lightening my load because of weight".

I think the question one has to ask themselves is: "why am I still competing with young men?"
One has to be aware enough to advance in their career or risk self-sabotage by remaining in the same entry level DJ job.
Up Lighting and Photo Booths are just inventory and easily duplicated by anyone. These do not represent growth or development of the kind one needs to stay economically relevant as we age and neither do changes to the inventory that is our body.

How do you say uplighting and photo booths are inventory and everyone can duplicate those things. I don't have such things and I know others that don't either. Would I like such things. Yes. I want to get into doing video at gigs but right now I can't afford it. My partner said he may do it when he gets his income tax money. He said he might get 2 32" screens and 2 stands to put the screens on. You assume too much sometimes. Let's talk about what you have to offer this time. I personally sacrificed to get the new gear I bought last year and the year before that.

Now as for the question. No way because I can do all of that but the fact of my age will never change. That's just wishing you you could turn back the hands of time and that's impossible. Reality is if you live long enough you're going to get old. Some just age gracefully and other just age.

Uplighting and photo booths can be purchased, rented, or borrowed. Very easy to duplicate. I believe he is saying you have to expand your horizons beyond a commodity based, easily duplicated business model to survive long term.

Buy what ever gear you think is "magic" then rinse and repeat until the obvious finally sinks in.
What I don't see on your wish is - clients. In fact, you don't seem to have a plan to find any and I can assure you they don't come with the gear.

Find some clients first.
None of the gear you listed can do if for you.
Gather some astronauts and THEN go build the rocket.

nope

I'm Just like you
Only Smarter
and Better Looking

To me when anyone has work done it looks unnatural. I've yet to see an older person who had work done look 'normal' to me. You just expect certain things to be saggy with age. If I'm looking at a 60 year old guy with near perfect eyes or no wrinkles something just ain't right.

I'd like to say if you're to old for someone they're not the client for you but in this vain world we live in you might be loosing a lot of clients.
