I wonder if you could add on an amp, a crossover, and a pair of passive 18" sub-woofers. That should rattle some gym lights! Besides, who needs lights anyway when you're trying to grind with your honey on the dance floor?
Seriously, I think it would be pretty funky to see a hybrid setup of powered and passive.
I think you've got your answer here, Adam. You can add on some powered bass bins for that extra oomf. Let us know what you end up adding. (Pics, please!)![]()
You can do this. In fact, I have a 2nd biamped-rig that I use to supplement the Bose. One thing to consider though is it appears that if you plug your powered sub into the "bass out" on the L1, it will drop the wattage going to your B1s. I take the other side of the mixer's output to a crossover, then to the sub. I believe they're crossing at 100hz on the Bose. I only add a single 15" to my setup and it really adds a lot of ooomph to the rig, overall.
