Wireless Music System Suggestions...

There are 3 "normal" paths if you will: Using a wireless mic receiver at the remote speaker (or 2 if you have a pair) and a bodypack transmitter hooked up to the mixer output ... or ... an IEM transmitter with bodypack receivers at the speakers (more expensive if you don't already have in ear monitors for live sound) ... or ... one of the units especially built for this like the Vocopro air-net ( http://www.vocopro.com/products/product_info.php?ID=586 ) or the Phonic units ( http://www.phonic.com/en/wireless-speaker-kits/ ).

I've only tried it once with my audio-technica body packs and receiver .. worked fine at the 150' or so I was at.

Thanks Steve...this sounds like the way to go. I already have a set of Line 6 mics. The receivers are nice and compact. I would just need to add a body pack which I've been considering for other reasons so this looks like the solution. Much appreciated.

Thanks Rick...I have a 2 Lav GTD system already and its great. The receiver is a little on the large side for what I want to do here but its worth testing. Ideally Im looking for something I can setup and take down quickly so I can transition from ceremony to cocktail hour/reception with little effort/time without having to have/pay a helper.

I agree on the size, it's a full-size rack unit. For Ceremonies, I mounted a GTD, power amp and small Behry mixer into a shallow rack case. It's all pre-wired and means I can just leave it in place after the ceremony and come back to get it once guests are seated. It does away with that whole "guests seeing the DJ break gear down" problem. The extra rig also means a built-in backup for the main rig, should something catastrophic happen.

I think you miss his point. He needs the receiver at the speaker, not his rig. The transmitter would be at his rig.
 
You are correct I missed that but I'll add that i believe it's a mistake to try and always use a wireless speaker to do ceremony sound from a remote spot. It will work some of the time but much more often, I need a seperate sound system. The separate rig also better justifies an added charge for ceremonies. Btw just put a 1/4" converter on the gtd body pack. You'll still have superior range to the other units mentioned.
