hahahaha i can share a big secret if you want to have your whole library at the tip of your fingers and have acces to karaoke programs playlist all in one FREE program WIAMP BABY it rocks my world i share my secret if you want???????????

haha ok first you get a hold of someone like me to get you a external hard drive with all the music and karaoke tracks (cd+g files) you need......then all you do is download the latest version of winamp......and update your your ASPI driver.....< so the words will come up search yaoo for force aspi.......then you go to the winamp web site and look for a plug in that says cd+g its really small goes right into winamp then you set up your library in winamp to view the external hard drive data (its simple but i wont explain unless you really want to do this) and so then you have 2 views regualr music and karaoke and plus you have a search bar so all you do is click and it goes to your play list.... another cool thing about winamp is when i dj i can choose my crosfade so its almost like using disks and there are so many plugins you can get for scratching things of this nature if your really into that.... so thats the secret...

I recommend to all djs that i know NOT to use winamp for primary djing, there are occations where it is necessary, say you don't have time to setup a complete system... Using a crossfader plugin souly for DJ is tacky to me and does not create the best possible mix in an event. If you do want to go the Winamp route, i recommend one of the DJ plugins which will spawn two instances of winamp that way you can mix your files exactly the way a real dj would. As for CD-G files, no prob... I'm fully there with you, visualizations can be very nifty too since it is community driven. I would have a seperate say set top system which would accept line in and output visualizations on a screen, or feed that into an Edirol V-4 and bring it in through S-Video.

My two cents to improve the industry.

hahaha nice nice, actually for visualizations i wouldnt recomend a media player to provide that........BEATHARNESS its kick ass and free for some....hahaha and about the using winamp.....I dont get the plugins i prefer not to, regular music is fine if you got the right stuff and know how to use it and i dont like the plugin where it spawns it into two winamps.....IVE DONE THAT it suxs it will sometimes skip because you are going into a external harddrive and reading a file then the same program is reading another file.......I DONT RECOMEND THAT....actually i dont recomend any plugins but if you find one that works for you then go for it....the regular old winamp main crossfade is fine by me and i can make it sound just like a cd to cd crossfade so..........In the end its really personal choice and taste

agreed, DjG you have proven the age old statement that it isn't the Tool, but how the DJ uses the Tool that makes all the difference.

Edit: BTW for free you can't get much better, I personally use it on ALL my PCs, additionally the visualizations are second to non than any other program (wmp just really can't compare)

lol I wont answer this one...

Thanks Jay :)
