That's my gut reaction too. Although I would be hard pressed to even hum one of her tunes. I find her very irritating as a singer. YMMV

As I think Kirby mentioned, her songs are forgettable. How they made #1, is beyond my pea brain...

She made number one because people's attentions spans are so small nowadays that whatever song people like at that moment (it can be one week even) go to #1. If enough people like that song that one week, it shoots right up, and then next week when another song comes out it can drop down significantly. I don't think I have ever heard "Touch My Body" even.

Maybe world-wide, but not in the US. Queen has sold more "units" than Mariah worldwide (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_music_artists) but doesn't have as many number 1 hits.
