When is the memorial gig in the park Mix?
I forgot to say it's a health fair event and other things. It's not a standard memorial. There will be a picture of their son. There will be plenty of food and drinks. No alcohol. There will be give aways to the kids, raffle and there will be a large water bottle that people can donate money for the next years event in the park..

Took a friend of mine today to buy some old gear. He used to be in the business got out years ago but still does a few oldies dances from time to time usually rents gear but he decided to take the plunge

He bought a Yamaha EMX 5000 powered mixer and 2 Club 15s for $500 it came complete with wires and a Bluetooth dongle. The mixer is 25 years old the Club 15s are at least that but it all sounds great and looks like it was hardly used except for a little dust

I was always a big fan of the club series and Yamaha in general I kind of regret selling the ones I had if he didn't buy it I probably would have and found a place for it as a rental or a residency

The Branch Brook Park event is in Newark, NJ and is on August 29th. The event will be near the skating rink outside. Actually it will be near the play ground for kids. We will be on a big stage. The setup for speakers will be 2 QSC K12.2 speakers and 2 Mackie subs. 2 controllers, a mixer, wires and possibly a speaker for the monitor for us to hear what we're mixing.

How many people attend that event? Setup seems a little light for an outdoor event.

I don't know how many people will be attending this years event. However many isn't our concern. It's about the job we do for the event and getting paid. The great we're using will be more than good enough. It has been every time we've done this event. Do remember none of these speakers are Bahringer speakers. It's the real deal.

Which model of Mackie subs??

I assume that “great” should be gear. Also how do you know the Mackie subs will be enough when you have never used them at this gig? Didn’t your partner just recently pick those up?

Knowing the expected guest count is your problem. So as to do a great job you need the proper tools. You must have been the low bider?

And since he’s such a pro and has done this gig sooooooo many times you’d think he would have knowledge of expected crowd size. Pretty important detail when providing outdoor sound.

He did and for what he's paying us, this is what we will be using for the event.

Sometimes you get what you pay for.
Please keep in mind all that this event is not a big festival gig. No need to have a big festival setup like a friend that does Mulberry Commons on Wednesday during the summer. Here are some pictures of the setup he uses for that event.
