Title says it all. Through the years I have been amazingly accurate at figuring out which songs I get from my record pool are going to be hits, but there are always a few that never quite made it, or just never even were released to radio/public.

So which songs have you thought were going to be hits, but never even saw the light of day?

I was sure this would be a hit it has that sound and although it did a bit on the Canadian charts I could never get anyone to dance to it

I could never figure out why the original version of Sha la la by Dreamhouse , released in the 90s & absolutely massive in Asia was never promoted well , possibly never even released in the USA , UK , NZ & Australia.I had an imported album version i got in Hong Kong & it was massive in the clubs here but record companies just didn't bother releasing it.
The Venga Boys about 2 to 3 years later , released their version which was a worldwide smash.
What about you Jy?

There was a song I did by Brandy called "Afrodesiac" that was produced by Timbaland that had one of the best beats I have ever heard, the best production, mastering, vocals... man, this track was put together SO well, and it was the title track of the album she was coming out with at the time. You would think that this track, with a Super Producer on it, would be her first single, but NOPE. It never even came out. I have a JyMix of it in the archives, I even added a local artist to do a verse on it. The song would have changed the way her album was received, I bet. Instead she came out with some foul slow jam, that no one even remembers now.

jeff romard....definitely with you on the Soul Decision song....it was totally a hit in my mind!

Others...

anything from Brother Cane (never got that big....)
been preaching about Volbeat!! Wait for this....about to be the new "Metallica"
was pumping up Katy Perry a few years ago...thats actually happening.....which is good.

surprised that certain artists do not get recognized.....not that they do not have "hits"....

say.....Buddy Guy
say....Too Slim and the Taildraggers
I miss.....No Doubt
I miss.....Pete Rock and CL Smooth
ummm....Tech9....I'm A Playa

I get request for Soul Decision all the time, people even sing it regularly at karaoke. It's not something people would dance to at a wedding but team it up with Return of the Mack or Next - Too Close and it works on the club / bar dance floor.

My song that failed: Sarai - Ladies and Cory Lee - The Naughty Song.

When it comes down to it I think the songs failed cause the chicks are not hot.

they all change weekly

its more on the girls that listen and decide than anyone else

so if they are in a bad mood some other song will be a hit!!!
