What smart phone model do you currently have?

I am just curious how I stack up against what other DJs are currently using as their phone. I am NOT the type to ever buy the newest, latest, and greatest. I currently use a Samsung Galaxy S10+. It works flawlessly except the keyboard on it isn't very good. I bought the phone refurbished off of Amazon for like $240 a couple years ago. I am looking to upgrade later this year, but I am either going to go back to using a Google Pixel, and might go with a 7XL which is last year's model, or another Galaxy, but go with like a 22 or something affordable.
 
I have a Galaxy S 23 and it works for me. Let me say they keep coming up with a new model phone all the time. Some feel they have to have the latest thing that comes out no matter what the product is.

Ask yourself this question. What is the reason you want to get another phone?
 
Iphone 13 Pro and I wish I had stayed with the 11 it was faster and had better signal

The 3.5 mm headphone jack on my Samsung S10 has kept me using this now 5 year old phone. These jacks are nearly extinct on newer phones. I fly coast-to-coast several times a year and can't stand BT earbuds that don't last the trip. With wired headphones, I don't have to worry about battery life. Of course, newer BT LE earbuds are promising longer battery life but then I have to wait for the earbuds and phones to support the same LE codec versions. This is beginning to happen but universal compatibility is still a ways off.

There are a couple of lesser known phone brands that still offer the 3.5 mm jack but I prefer to avoid those. I have USB-C to 3.5mm adapters but adapters always get misplaced and the ones that allow simultaneous charging are a bit awkward. I have considered replacing the battery in my S10 but other issues are creeping up with it that are telling me its end is near. I will probably upgrade to an S24 in the next few months. I am in no rush though.

It's great because I'm not compatible with 90% of the trash apps the tech companies are pushing. :)
I can call, text, use email, calendars, and navigation. Could not care about anything else, and life is better for it.

I don't even have a password locking my phone because there is literally access to NOTHING of value on it, and no cash, banking, or payment apps,

I don't miss the 3.5" jack nearly as much as I thought I would. It's been a while since I've had it. My battery powered bose NC headphones seem to last on every flight I've been on the last several years, even international. At least as far as I can remember. I always have airpods with me for phone calls, so they would be a back up.
I have adapters in my DJ bags to connect iphones and pads as that's really the only time I'd connect them with wires theses days.

I love doing my banking, invoicing, processing payments, pay bills, send out contracts, and sign contracts right on my phone. There's tons of secured value on it that can be deleted and quickly downloaded to a new device if needed. I need to keep data somewhere. I might as well have it available to me whenever I want it. Saves me so much time and gives me much more time to spend with family and friends. That's what's most important to me. Keeping it secure with face ID is incredibly easy.

Wow! I thought my older bro and sis were the only ones still using I phone 6 still!

I have a 6 also that I use for a studio phone with a free text now number on it. I just use it for that and Apple Music if I needed a backup

I've got a Google Pixel 7a.

I got tired of Apple trying to force me to use Apple Music when it connected to my car, so about 5-6 years ago I switched away from Apple products.

I had the 7 but I dropped it and broke it last year and I had to replace my phone almost instantly. I have so many elements in my life that require 2-factor authentication apps or ability to read a text code that without a working phone I was super limited.

I will probably consider the 9 when it comes out in the fall. I'm hoping they improve the battery performance. But I prefer the smaller version of these phones which leaves them less room for batteries in the casing.

I have switched mostly to BlueTooth, but I carry something similar to these when I travel. Rather than fiddling with the adapter at all, you can just get headphones with the USB-C (or Lightning, etc.) on them. If you are using wired headphones you absolutely love, that doesn't help you. But I've found it to be a convenient option if my buds run low or I just don't feel like dealing with them.
