What pieces of gear are you happy that you bought?

I think of gear as something that fills a need for a specific time period. I have had lots of gear that I loved in its day that later became obsolete such as CD players or wireless gear. The oldest gear in my active inventory is probably my Yamaha MS400 (not the newer MSR) 15" 2-way powered speakers that I bought new at 50% off over 20 years ago. They aren't the lightest or loudest but they are very nicely voiced. I get complements on their sound quality nearly every time I use them. They've had a great run and I don't think I will get rid of them any time soon. I am waiting for some new column speakers to come to market that should be lighter and louder but they won't replace the Yamahas.

I would agree I have a set of the Italian SRM 450’s that I’ve had forever and an ancient JBL SR series system I still use for some outdoor gigs, But typically gear is just a tool to get the job done I don’t get attached to it or have a favorite piece
