That's DJing 101. That goes for just about any event where dancing takes place.

Oh, and I've never DJed in a dance club. A few local bars yes, but not the clubs. So, does that disqualify me as a 'REAL' DJ?

Edit: No, I don't spin records. I use a Denon Media Player.

More like "beginner's 101." Title: How to be average & predictable

It's the beginers and wannabees who sit on the hits (wearing them like life-preservers) because they lack the confidence and experience required to build and sustain a dance floor, pull one out of a dive, and to present the same song in more than one manner.

"Timing" is being the DJ who makes things happen on the dance floor; a DJ who can start a fire and keep it burning. Any average Joe can make a flash by "saving" some lighter fuid to throw on someone else's fire. Anyone who asks you to "save" something that is not part of their own production catalog or an imitation of their style is just playing you for a fool.

"Peak hour" is the point at which there's no more turnover, and any decent DJ should have them eating out of his hand by then without the need to rely on a life preserver.

You have OBVIOUSLY never opened for anyone other than yourself, and have played at no REAL clubs. I am sorry that we have wasted eachother's time.
I don't know why I tried to argue fact vs. opinion anyway, you will lose no matter what. When someone THINKS that their opinion is FACT, there is no showing them otherwise, and that is what has happened here.

I am still up for a DJ battle, any time. Only thing is, it HAS to be live. No pre made mixing bs. You talk the talk, but I have a feeling that when it comes down to it you will be just like any other big-talking DJ. Average.

The thing about facts is that they are always recorded somewhere.

why do i think i'm a DJ? I know i can walk into pretty much any party, event, nightclub.......any any equipment.....cdj's, 1200's, midi controller.....and I know i can read the crowd. With a wide range of experience from 50's to techno, drum/bass, hip hop, r n b, etc. On top of that, with the experience on the mic to control the energy in an event and deliver!
