Sorry :sqwink: Couldn't resist. I have made fun of associations for their 2 or 3 lines to list gear. Ya right. You'd be scrolling for days here.

Truth be told, I don't have an equipment list on my computer even (it's on Steve's and archived). I do need to update our web equipment list as it has changed a bit. See website for list of *most* of the gear in each DJ system. The stuff in the shop is in a database somewhere. :sqerr:

Well, I, like Valerie just wouldn't know where to start with the list. And to be honest, other than the gear that gets regularly used, I have no idea exactly what I own anymore. After a certain point, you seem to lose track.

I have been selling alot off in recent months, and have shed myself of over $50,000 (sale value) worth of gear since the end of March 2006, mostly via eBay, and all of it gear that we haven't used in years. This month alone I have sold off $6500 worth already.

Lets just say the value of my gear inventory is in the 6 figures.

But PLEASE tell me that you keep a list around for insurance & depreciation reasons, right?

BTW - anyone know what the IRS accepted drepreciation schedue or life expectantcy of sound gear and intelligent lighting is? I think we create the idea of a short life ( 1 or 2 years ) where some tried and true gear can run for a LONG time.

remember those old Carver amps that never quit?

We still use a lot of old Carver amps that never quit! lol We have a handful of PT2400's and a few PM1.5's. The rest of the amps are even older....Crest 5000, etc. Big old workhorses that just...well, work!

And yes, to not know what you have is not a good idea. You must have a list for insurance coverage (I had to give a list to my agent), and you must have a list for accounting purposes (had to give a list to the tax man too).

Chaos~
yeah over 6 figures for the DJ system. Everything else is gravy I guess. :sqwink:
