I am new to the DJ scenend am wondering what DJ software I should use. I am not really wanting to mix music, just play it. I am looking for something that will auto fade between the songs and easy to use. Also looking for something that I can save a playlistism order prior to the gig. Not wanting to take a loan out at the bank for it but something reasonable on the pocket book..

Virtual DJ

Virtual DJ here too, formerly a long time Serato Scratch Live user.

Traktor Pro and within a couple of weeks Traktor Pro 2 (Awesome)

Mixmeister 6 is what I use right now. I've demoed the newer versions of MM and didn't like them so I'm sticking with 6 until Windws tells me I cant then moving on to Rockit

Rockit for me as well..simple, stable, does what I need, multiple skins, very easy to change the font size...many more reasons.

Download the demo and try it!

The OP did not ask what you use, he asked - "I am new to the DJ scenend am wondering what DJ software I should use. I am not really wanting to mix music, just play it. Serato, Virtual DJ & Traktor are overkill and overpriced which don't fit the criteria.

The OP did not ask what you use,
Look at the Thread Heading Scott, it clearly states " What DJ software are you using?". LOL Are you going blind on us? Do I have to come back to Boston and take you to the Uno's Restaurant for Pizza again? LOL:triwink: BTW Traktor does all what the OP is asking for a Software to do and more.

Just test them all out and see which you are comfortable with I use Virtual DJ

Traktor Scratch Duo, kickin it old school with Timecode and CD decks for dance/party mixing.
Mixmeister for cocktails and instant requests.
I can never understand why some DJs have to use a second software to do Cocktails. Thats like being a taxi cab owner and having one cab for short trips and another for long trips.
Don't you know how to add a song to Traktor on the Fly or run two Playlists/Active Lists at the same time? Seems like you need some tuition on Traktor. Just saying!
