Soundcraft has been around forever. Currently in the Harman stable (JBL, et al). The Soundcraft FX16 was my workhorse. I used it for most events. Another option is the smaller version of the one I have .. Allen & Heath ZED 10FX-60

Allen & Heath ZED60-10FX - 6 Channel Mixer AH-ZED60-10FX B&H I believe there is a rack mount option for it. I've seen it for less than $350 on sale at times. I love the A&H mixers .. rock solid and dead quiet. And it has 2 way USB, so you can record to the laptop as well.

Yep... I think that looks like a REAL good possibility... best I've seen so far. Seems everyplace has it at $399, but I can shop around. Thanks for the recommendation.

ZED 60/10FX .. $361 at kpodj.com

I see ZED 10FX's for much less, but no ZED60-10FX's. What's the significance of the 60?

The 60 signifies 60mm linear faders instead of rotary ones. The larger units (like my 12FX) have 100mm faders .. a bit long IMO.

Oh... I see... Premium quality 60mm faders.

Like I said, the A&H have been solid. The USB interface works great and the effects are high end.

That looks like a nice mixer, but it doesn't appear to have the USB inputs. Pretty much any mixer with more than 8 channels is gonna be more than I need.[emoji4]

Yeahhhh I missed the USB part lol

I think that's the one I want. I see one on eBay for $359... says nearly new. Not sure it's worth a risk. I bought a used Pioneer controller off eBay and I lucked out and got a great deal, but I'm always a little hesitant to buy used gear unless I know the seller.

OK... I bought it (Allen & Heath ZED60-10FX) $359 with free shipping. Was a store display and had original packaging. 5 star seller, so I decided to risk it.[emoji4] There were 13 others watching it, so I pulled the trigger.[emoji1] I'll let you all know how it works out.

Ahhh... darn... I missed that. I was too quick to buy the one on eBay.[emoji1] I would have bought that one, but I think the one I bought will be fine. We'll see.[emoji1]

Sometimes I'm just really silly. A new one was $399 almost everywhere. I only saved $40... BIG DEAL![emoji1] I get SO hung up about saving money and not paying retail for anything... it's like a game... or an affliction.[emoji1] GEEZ!

My guess it's probably as new.

Anyone else notice the OP hasn't responded?

Well... I kinda hijacked his thread, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. There was a lot of good info posted in this thread. If he read any of it, he'd be able to answer Steve's questions. I'm done hijacking his thread now, though. I got my mixer.[emoji1]

If you have a positive perspective, this thread illustrates how some members benefit from Mix's threads, even if he doesn't.[emoji4]

I completely agree - just amazed that he continues to ask for advice - yet listens to none of it.
I not!!! been like this for years on several forums. I've even reached out in private message and got no response.
Kinda like not showing for a free dinner & not even a phone call on Steve!

I can only surmise that Mix really didn't/doesn't know what features he needs .. which is OK .. but then the questions should be about what to look for .. not which one to buy for $XX.
