what is this clause for? What is it supposed to be protecting you from? Does the venue sign it?

thanks

My contract was written by an entertainment attorney originally. It is the responsibility of the public venue to be in compliance with ASCAP/BMI for music royalties. Since DJ's rely on venues being in compliance with all applicable laws, this is an added level of protection if the legality of music is ever challenged. (My understanding only, I am not an attorney, that's what I pay them for!)

Venue is providing the video projector. I did not asl her who will operate it.

Be careful with the video projector. At my reception in June sister of the Bride did power point and ask me to connect her laptop to my system. Of course she recorded music at the lowest quality, sounded like crap and all eyes were on me. So make sure that they know what they doing.

Hey guys I some times get asked to allow clients to Have a laptop or dvd player ran through my sound system. What I have done and it works great. I use my ceremony systems wireless lavalier that has a plug in for a guitar. With that I get an adapter so that it allows me to plug right into the laptop or dvd players head phone jack. This works great. I just make sure I tell the client other than the audio through my system they must run it themselves. And I'm only doing this for them and don't charge for it.
