Well, the new site's up and running. I've still got some tweaking to do and a few things to add.

Anyways, let me know what you think so far.

www.yourmichigandj.com

BTW, I already know what some of you are gonna say Flash, but it's what I'm sticking with for now.

In the "about" section:

Finally...a fun wedding reception!!!

At Main Event Entertainment, we pride ourselves on being fun without being cheesy, and elegant without being stuffy. It is our goal to provide you with the finest disc jockey service in Midland and all of Mid-Michigan.

Since 1992, Jay Balliet has entertained thousands of people throughout Michigan. As the owner of Hitman Entertainment, name (remove the word name)he specialized in DJ entertainment for upscale destination weddings in Traverse City and Northern Michigan. In August of 2007, the Balliet family relocated to the Tri-Cities area. After a one year hiatus, Jay decided to once again put on the headphones and provide the people of central Michigan with the finest in DJ entertainment.

When you choose Main Event Entertainment you can rest assured that you will get the personalized one-on-one service that you deserve.

The words "rest assured" sound old and clunky to me. I would change that whole paragraph to read "When you choose Main Event Entertainment, you can count on us to provide you with the personalized one-on-one service that you deserve."

I'll get to your other sections later (when I have more time).

Under the "weddings" tab:

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!! (Remove two of these. One is quite enough)

You've found the perfect dress, the photographer's work is phenomenal and you both love the caterer. Now comes the search for the right disc jockey.

What better way to celebrate the biggest day of your life than with good friends and great music? At Main Event Entertainment it is our goal to make all of your wedding reception dreams come true. From beginning to end, we will work with you to ensure that everything is just as you imagined it. would be. (strike would be)

Call us today and find out how much fun your wedding reception could be.

You're most welcome.

I was against flash sites a couple of years ago when most PCs and connections were slow.
Now, I feel that mostly everything on the web is flash-based and anyone without a high speed connection or newer computer is making their own headaches.

Looks good, but I (personally) don't like the name "Main Event" (it's been done to death). I also don't like Dynamod templates (done to death as well).

Thou express thine opinions gracefully. I thank thee.

Flash and search engines are like oil and water. That's why I'm against flash.

The SEO robots have a hard time with flash.

That's the funny thing. When I had thehitmandj.com it was a Dynamod flash site and I was in the top 3 on Google for almost all my keywords. #1 for a few even. I think it may be because there is an html mirror site which the spiders can crawl.

That was probably your saving grace, and it will probably work the same with your new site. It's a good idea to to both versions.

I also was the same as Hank but there is still a few years to be before we have enough on a DSL type lines

so do some html sites for now, you will be supprised on how fast it gets better over time

Here is what I notice......

The site looks GREAT.

The words that come to mind are elegant and fun, a really rich looking experience.

When I go to the pricing page, there is a disconnect, at least mentally for me. You should remove your prices. I expect to see a higher rate, don't know why, but I do. So, when I hit the price page, there is a believability gap for me.

Looks good though.

Dave

Don't listen to negatives about flash...flash is awesome.

However...why have the "enter" page and an option for dial up users? Really? Dial up users? Who is on dial up anymore? If they are, then they probably can't afford you....I would lose that page and just have it open up to the pretty blue page and your main site.........
