i'm still out on that one - as I have a few test systems checking it out
i'll see what its doing in a few months (dont happen over night)

but i'll stick with what I have for now

the microcrap rep that I see told me not to install it yet as they are still full of bugs that it wont find everything

they have to get the rights to some software that needs installing
like how they bought the microsoft defender was originally from guardian
so its not something they created - none of this is
 
Lots of tech sites that I follow are recommending the Free MS Security Essentials for AV. I've been running it full time for a while now and haven't had any issues. I used Avast for quite a while but it began to feel like I was wasting lots of resources with it. MS Security Essentials is very light weight.

Funny thing it found a virus on my machine two weeks back. It scanned one of my server backups and found a virus laden file that was in the server's spam queue when I made the backup. That's pretty darn good, Window's doesn't naively support the tar format yet MSSE found it. It wasn't anything worry because I rarely untar the backups and even if I did I wouldn't open anything in the spam folders. ;)
