Hi Guys recently I wrote a post regarding issues about video freezing and loading using Virtual, I have a new purpose built PC intel duo core 32 bit 500GB Drive .Gigabite board 2.93GHZ 4GB Ram. ATI Radeon 4350 512MB video card. On the earlier post we have folks saying to upgrade to VDJ7, I have and still the same problem, then I'm told it's windows 7 home premium and needs to be the pro version, then I'm told its the video card, Now I'm told it's my computer memory after I notified VDJ support and and included the alert prompt the program gives me while it's running frezzing and crashing ect, The VDJ Program alert reads as follows: Decompressing this file in memory would require 68mb of continuous memory your system has only 56 mb available free segments out of 2047MB and they are to fragmented to hold a continuous buffer. Therefore the song will be loaded on the fly from the drive and the wave form preview will not be available.

I spent hours tweaking my computer changing registry values Etc all to no avail

After Weeks of Forums looking into the problem plus using Virtual DJ support I came across a post written by a user on the VDJ site stating windows 7 comes with DirectX 11 installed and VDJ is written for DirectX 9. This may cause problems, I uninstalled 11 and installed 9 and it all seems to work fine. So if you have any of the problems I've experienced above try that first. It was an easy fix but weeks of stress trying to get it sorted. I would like to thank all at Our DJ Talk as well as VDJ support without you all I never would have sorted this out. Keep up the good work folks, spread the word!!!!

Glad you solved it!

Have you also used the VDJ registry tool to set tweak your computer's video memory allocations? This is key to getting it to play nicely with videos for any length of time.

Thanks for letting us know.

Usually the problem is solved with the simplest soloution but I wouldn't have guessed this either

Maybe it his system combo. Mine with W7 Ultimate and the original DirectX installed has been running beautifully both with me mixing and in automix sending video out via HDMI running different effects (Both audio and video) with the transitions without missing a beat.

Yes you should try your system with Windows 7 for sure, I don't DJ the program so much, mainly we use long playlists up to 10 hours with a mixture of Audio only and video tracks, I've had the program running for 8 hours testing and seems to be working fine

Yes well after having 6 months of trouble free VDJ running The same problem has re surfaced, about every second video track in a palylist will not load the wave form and preset the gain, i've got no idea if it was an update on the computer or what, I may just chuck out the video card, I re installed windows7 again and aslo removed directx11 and put 9 back in, all to no avail. Nothing worse than having to reset the volume every few minutes. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrh
