You're right and personally no offense taken (I like different opinions), but you're not the one booking the dj lol. The potential bride is, and I think too many Dj's hide their image, where as I showcase it. Two comments stand out to me that I've received over the years because of those intros... "We felt like we've known you forever after seeing you in your videos and the how much you're into your event"... "you dressed and presented yourself so much more professional than anyone else". At the same time, I too believe that too much of something isn't a good thing. So I try to find a good balance of videos with me talking and other's without me talking... that way if you see one video with an intro, chances are the next one you click will not have me and get straight to dancing so you don't have to hear me again. I typically only talk at weddings that have a lot going on and there's something worth talking about. Besides this video with me talking, the next Wedding video with me talking in the beginning was taken in May, meaning there are 6 or 7 videos between the two that don't have me speaking.I have a very short attention span, and I got tired of nothing but still photos pretty early.
Taso's videos have actual VIDEO footage, which I think makes them 100x more engaging to watch.
No offense, Taso...but I never liked the "personal" intros. But I think it's a matter of length... because it makes total sense from a marketing standpoint for you to be in the video. Perhaps for a shorter amount of time. You are not why they are watching the video.
Just my opinions.
But again you have to look at the big picture, not just a few of the 200 videos. Everyone watches the videos for a different reasons, some are looking at the video For me to see who I am and what I do. Some are guests at the wedding and could care less about me and just want to relive the night. Some are dj's just looking for equipment eye candy. You're also forgetting all the videos I post to instagram. Each video I post on vimeo is condensed down to a minute and shared to instagram for those followers. Those videos have no talking from me or anyone, and each clip is about 3-4 seconds long... a completely different approach which is straight to the point, and quick snippets to not lose engagement, as users can swipe in milliseconds and go to the next picture.
