I know this has nothing to do with DJing. I thought I had an issue with the cable company and why the TV stopped working. I went to play a DVD and tried to change the channel on the TV so I can get to the DVD player to play a DVD of the Golden Girls. So the channel wouldn't change and the TV screen shows 17 yellow lines on the screen. So I called the cable company to get the issue resolved. I did as I was told and that is turn the volume down on the TV instead of using the cable remote. Nothing. That was around 2:30 in the morning. They are sending me another remote only to find out when I called them back, nothing wrong with the cable TV. The issue is I was instructed to use the power button on the cable box to turn the box off and on. The lines were still there. The guy tells me the problem is with the TV.

The guy couldn't believe how calm I was when he told me the problem. I figured no need to curse the TV out, that won't make the TV start working the way it used to. I will be getting a new TV and I will be in need of a TV stand because the one I have won't work for the newer model TVs. Looking at getting a 40 inch TV. The thing that sucks is that I just bought a brand new laptop and now the TV is shot. The picture minus the lines on the screen is still great! It's a big back TV and I have had that TV for well over 15 years. So time to put it out to pasture. Not a good time right now with all that's going on. Thankfully I have the money to buy the items. I got the money together last night but the store was closed. For the TV looking to spend no more than $250 for the TV since the price of TVs has gone way down.

My point is I can complain about the problem and do nothing or look for a solution. The solution is to buy a new TV. Especially since I can't turn the TV off or lower the volume. I have to pause the DVR on a program so there's no sound. Now for the DJ side we've been asked are we ruined with the DJ business because of the situation we're in right now. I say what do you plan to do once things clear up? We know the problem. So going forward what's your solution to the problem once things get better which I believe it will?

Seriously, Mix? The Golden Girls?

We know... It's not your DVD. It belongs to your partner.

I wasn't aware we were reporting such things but my TV went the first day of lock down go figure I don't watch much TV till recently so I figured I should buy another one. Got a pretty good deal on a 65" TCL Roku unit. Ordered a wall mount too it came in yesterday

The gas line to our water heater sprung a leak the other day. We knew that because our house smelled of propane sunday. So we turned off the gas. We had no heat or hot water till monday. I had an appt with my gynecological oncologist monday morning so I showered the old fashioned way by heating water on the stove (because of all the appointments I could have, I was NOT going to that one unshowered!) Steve bought a replacement piece of gas line, installed it, and turned the gas appliances back on again Monday night. Crisis averted. And my oncology checkup was good too. Good for another 3 months.

what brand and size of TV will we be buying you?
What the hell are you talking about!? I got the stimulus check in the mail on Saturday. They don't tell you what you can and can't spend the money on. I worked at my day job for over 30 years. I probably worked on that job longer than you've been a DJ. Besides I went to 5 Walmart's today and the only TVs they had left were 32 inches. I wasn't settling for that. I want at least a 40 inch TV. After getting the TV I will need to get a TV stand to put it on and store the cable box and DVD player. I will go looking again tomorrow.

The little flapper door thingy on my pool skimmer broke on Monday; it helps create the suction that keeps debris in the skimmer basket and with it broken, none of the crap floating in the pool was getting into the skimmer. It has two little round tabs that attach to the skimmer and allow it to pivot with the water flow and one of them broke off. I tried using Loctite glue to hold it together, but that didn't work, so I ordered a new one but it won't be here until next Monday.

Once I placed the order, I gave it three more minutes effort and fixed the broken door using two plastic drinking straws and pieces of a broken toothpick. It's been working fine for four days now.

Also, I booked a wedding today.

Did you place your order at 2:30 in the morning like normal people?

Haha... no way. I live by the rule that if something takes five minutes or less to do, you do it at that very moment.

But what if you were so engrossed in bingeing on the Golden Girls ?
