Twitter??????

To many ads? Support ODJT and see no ads!
OK Guys - I've been back in jolly old England and pretty much hit the deck running - I have a nice little following on Twitter and my blogs get auto posted to Twitter, Facebook and Friendfeed (watch out for that one ;) )

I am getting a cartload of business through Twitter.

What you don't want is to follow a bunch of other DJs but look out for groups in your 'hood and join them all - you never know where your next punter is coming from.

I have had two nice ££££s SEO jobs through Twitter - do take it seriously and get sneaky ads in without overdoing it.

Make very short clips on where you are playing, nice meeting so an so in such a place and you will be viewed as the local authority

Believe me guys it can work for you.

I even have a couple of Twitter logos now which I have stuck on the back of my business cards along with a cheap looking www.facebookdavid.com rubber stamp - watch this space for loads of followers on my Twitter account - I have my logos here http://www.joetheseo.com - I'm deadly serious here.

Twitter will either sell to Google OR become a ****ing great real time search engine....

Mark My Words!

What many people overlook is that Google is not necessarily the number one search engine per se. In many ways, today it is actually YouTube in a round about way. And Twitter is following.

People use YouTube and Twitter to conduct searches AND YouTube and Twitter results show up in Google!

Just a tidbit.

Now follow us on Twitter! LOL

I was wondering about Twitter I don't think I've ever seen a twit result on a search engine.

Everyone should have a profile on Youtube Wikipedia and Ebay. Do any search and these three always come up. If you are tagged and written right you will come up

Actually, I was searching google the other day for information on a friend of mine who is the A/V Technical Coordinator at UMass Boston and Twitter was the first hit! (and the 10th, as well) I didn't even now he was on Twitter.

Twitter is still in its infancy. It is growing in leaps and bounds. It will most certainly carry more weight with future googe searches. Twitter Search is also a very powerful search engine itself especially with the use of #tags. Keep your eye on Twitter.

Don't stop there... Delicious, Flickr, Digg, StumbleUpon, Technorati, etc etc (Even though these are now nofollow... They won't help you with back links but the will help you come up multiple times in search.) There are many social networks to list on to.

Web 1.0 was about being on the web on your terms. Web 2.0 is about being on the web on your customers' terms: Basically be everywhere thay are. Be EVERYWHERE, not Somewhere. With things like Ping.Fm it is easier to be in multiple places at once. Hell, I often update my facebook, linkedin, twitter, myspace, and other statuses all at once via Ping.Fm.

The biggest talk right now in Web 2.0 & SEO is google profile pages. They come up number one when people search on your name.

hmmm... all this talk is got me thinking. Maybe I should turn my Web 2.0 / Social Marketing presentations I did for our ADJA chapter into a screencast or future podcast.

Twitter is all about Micro-Blogging. Short posts that are too short for a full blog post, but allows you to update your audience in short tidbits.

(Think about providing short daily tips on planning your wedding to brides and using Twitter to get the word out about new full posts on your blog or special event appearances)

Twitter has been so successful & useful that Facebook, MySpace, and LInked In have adopted the Twitter-esque status message. In fact, Facebook recently changed their entire focus to more of a real-time Twitter like feel to compete with the next up & coming social media platform.

Here is a useful video about Twitter. I use these great videos in my Social Networking Seminars:
