I really haven't used their mixers. I have used their speakers a bit - and never any issues when I used them (powered 12's and 15's).
There's no "one" Behringer. The application matters because, there's no such thing as entry level gear for expert users.
If DJ gear by Behringer trends less reliable than some of their more advanced systems I'm not surprised. Even inexperience of the user might contribute to the demise of entry level gear. Beginners and entry level gear is love at first sight - starts of really great and eventually crashes.
When Behringer decided to tap the market where experienced techs provide complex audio solutions to churches, schools, nonprofits, and other budget constrained clients - they had to rethink the core reliability of those particular products.

I tried the sub and my garage and it should do just fine. I certainly appreciate the comments.
Remember, it is not my main system. The sub is ONLY to compliment the low end on a VERY high end system. It will do its job and no one will ever see it.

Bob the thing with someone just starting out is usually they will buy things based on the price. A lot of them don't know about quality professional gear that will work great, sound great and last a very long time. So they will buy low end budget gear because they simply don't know aby better. If they stick around long enough some will upgrade to better quality gear and that's where they will see and hear the difference. Not all but a lot will.
Now to be fair sometimes you may need to get something in an emergency and don't have a lot of money to spend at the time. Once you know, you know to stay away from certain things because you know that it's junk that you won't be happy with and want to quickly get rid of it.
Now I remember a newbie who was using a pair of Harbinger speakers that sold for $250 new. They weren't happy with the with the speakers because they had issues with the speakers cutting in and out if I remember correctly. Besides those speakers being really cheap it also has to do with the application using those speakers. Those speakers were not designed to be played at super high volumes causing distortion and possibly damaging the speakers.
Some brands when you have the experience you know to stay clear away from. Like Pyle Pro, Gem Sound, Technical Pro and stuff like that. Their high grade gear is junk. Never mind their entry level gear.

In all fairness, if experience using crappy gear is any qualifier, his expertise may be too voluminous to ignore.

I said those who are first starting out will buy cheap gear that's not high quality simply because they just don't know the difference. Now obviously there are those on here who have many years experience that know better. Keep in mind I said normally a newbie starting out will buy cheap crappy gear. Some will know better because they did their homework. My personal experience is I learned as I got more serious about things.
You claim to have been at this for years .. so why do you continue to buy cheap gear?
Since you opened your trap what is the last cheap gear that you know that I said I bought?
