I didn't know there was more than one version of this song until I started looking on iTunes and they all sound like crap to me....

I have a client that has asked for this song and I can either get the Aerosmith [Live Version] as a single or buy the entire studio album that the song appeared on for $7.98 Not a bad deal really since it also contains other Aerosmith songs I don't have... but, is there a better version? I assume it's not done by Aerosmith.

Aerosmith - Studio Version....I hate live cuts myself.

How old are your clients and does Aerosmith fit in with some of their other requests? What kind of other artists/genres are they asking for?

Now for me, I'd ask for Dread Zeppelin's version....:sqwink:

In 1934, Tommy Bradshaw formed his own swing orchestra, which recorded eight sides that year. The band's next recording date was in 1944, at which point its music was closer to rhythm and blues. The band recorded extensively for the rhythm and blues market, especially between 1950 and 1954.

Bradshaw's best known recording was "Train Kept A-Rollin'" (1951), which passed from rhythm and blues into rock. The song was recorded by Johnny Burnette in 1956 and The Yardbirds in 1965. It was covered again by Aerosmith in 1974 and also later in the 70's by Motörhead.

Ok you brainiacs which version is the best?

This is for the downtown 5/10/15K Run/Walk the age range could be between 3 - 64.... who knows....

She wants lots of music from the "Jock Rock" style.... I've never bought that series of CDs but I'm sure I have lots to please anyway...

She has a few songs she posted in an email to me that I have no idea who they are by and song title searches yield nothing....

Here are a few requests for the Two Rivers Meet:
Up beat Jock rock mostly but a wide range of age group songs (we have runners from 3 to 64)

In the Mood- Andrew Sisters (or one song from that era that is swinging and upbeat...early on. I have "Swing The Mood" which should fit this request nicely.

Train Kepta Rolling- Aeorsmith...but there is also a newer version that is even better Which version and by who? I can get the Aerosmith version if I purchase the entire digital album from Amazon but really don't want every song on the album... grrr

25 miles to Go No clue if this is the title or just a few words from the lyrics.... I need to google this and see if I can figure it out.

Mercy- Duffy No problem I have this.

Hold On Im COming- Sam & Dave No problem I have this.

Keep On Lots of artists have done a song with this title the closest I think that fits is a swinging R&B tune can't remeber the artist off the top of my head.

Walk On Again several artists have done a tune with this title....

Stayin' Alive, the Bee Gees No Problem

Beethovens 5th from Saturday Night Fever Don't have it but I think I can get it.

If you're going through Hell- Rodney Atkins No problem

Ain't No Mountain High Enough No Problem

Who Will Buy This Wonderful Morning- from Oliver the muscial Haven't looked for it yet but hopefully it's on itunes or amazon

Starshine- Oliver Ditto

Red Rubber Ball Never heard of it and assume it's a kids song

Eminem: Last chance...or something, I can't find it...but whatever, no explicit lyrics Wow an Eminem song without explicit lyrics that's like sugar without being sweet

............. and of course, corny but always appropriate...
Rocky Got it

Chariots of Fire Can get

That help?

I can't believe you never heard of "Red Rubber Ball". I guess you're younger than I thought. Damn Radio doesn't play good oldies anymore, so it's a wonder anyone knows anything.

Anyway.... "Keep On" is most likely "The Brady Bunch"

I'm only 38... and no I've never heard Red Rubber Ball before... I've heard of Blue Balls but that's another story altogether.... LOL

Believe it or not, I think you will find Burnette's '56 version of Train more UNIVERSALLY apealing....... IMHOP, of course...

Ding! Ding! Ding!.....From what Rob has posted on some of their requests, I'd say that Joe has the winning answer.

I'd still get a copy of Get Your Wings, so you can hear what Aerosmith really used to sound like before they became a pop band....:sqlaugh::sqlaugh::sqlaugh:

"Keep On" is most likely "The Brady Bunch"
Sorry to disagree with you but it's most likely "The Silver Platters".:sqwink:

And I believe their lead singer was the beautiful Maura.

if you're worried about which version is most FAMILIAR
(other than Aerosmith's)
I'd say the Yardbirds version.

maybe you should leave it up to the client to choose the version!
