My wife telling me that the OBGYN's nurse told my wife to take a pregnancy test, even though I had a vasectomy 6 years ago....

Draggin' The Line - Tommy James

Still trying to figure out whether it's about working on a boat, or snortin' some blow...

Ain't got much, but what we got's ours.
We dig snow, and rain, and the bright sunshine,
Draggin' the line..."

I went from LAtin to Chris Browns latest release and another huge shift listening to the Doo Wop Box set.

Aw thanks, Brother Kirby. There's hope for you yet. I've got a Buck Owens disc set that I listen to on ocasion. Tonight feels like one of those occasions. :)

Now... don't you feel better? :D

Currently, I'm working me way through the ancient Bluegrass tunes. I love this music. :)

LOL, thanks Fred.

When we young pups we'd be listening to Alice Cooper, The Doors, Allman Brothers, Poco, Pink Floyd, etc., etc. and then rush home to watch "Hee-Haw"! :sqeek:

Dwight does a fine job of capturing Buck's spirit and sound on this recording. Gonna let this one spin again! :)

Ah... I hear ya there, Kirby.

I've gotta give Dwight Yoakam kudos ~ man, he'd fill the floors when I was doing a lot of Country dance parties. Talk about high energy dance tunes... he did 'em. Them dancers would swing 'round the floor. :)

One of the tracks on my Buck Owens comp set is Streets Of Bakersfield, a duet with Dwight that I prefer over the original version.

We probably have about 15 Buck songs in our traveling library and get to break one out, every once in awhile..although not often enough! :sqwink:

I use Dwight's cover of Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" as much as I can.

I've got a buddy who professes to "hate Country music", but absolutely loves Dwight! Go figger that one out!

I believe that I have that duet somewhere around here, gonna have to do some searching....

Excuse me Sir I too enjoy Dwight

and may have been a sparkle in my Moms eye dancin in Bakersfield with my Father to both Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. Rumor has it it wasnt a Buckle my Dad was polishing.:sqwink:

Let's go for a round dance...

Jimmy Martin's 20 Greatest Hits. :)

There's no image available for this disc at amazon so I can't do the Kirby thang with a pic.

Here's a big hit that was written by Bill Monroe: Uncle Pen

Oh, the people would come from far away
They danced all night till the break of day
When the caller hollered, "do-se-do"
You knew Uncle Pen was ready to go

Late in the evening about sundown
High on the hill and above the town
Uncle Pen played the fiddle, Lord how it would ring
You could hear it talk, you could hear it sing

He played a little tune he called "Soldier's Joy"
And the one he called "The Boston Boy"
But the greatest of all was "Jenny Lynn"
To me that's where fiddlin' begins

Late in the evening about sundown
High on the hill and above the town
Uncle Pen played the fiddle, Lord how it would ring
You could hear it talk, you could hear it sing

But I'll never forget that mournful day
When Uncle Pen was called away
They hung up his fiddle, and they hung up his bow
They knew it was time for him to go

Late in the evening about sundown
High on the hill and above the town
Uncle Pen played the fiddle, Lord how it would ring
You could hear it talk, you could hear it sing
I can see 'em out there now on that huge, wooden dance floor spinnin' 'round.

Those were the days. :)
