Absolute, beautiful....silence.

We did a reception tonight that was 90% hip-hop for the dance music and I need to regain my sanity.

I just picked up 2 new discs today I am about to tear into:

Dream Theater- Systematic Chaos
Bruce Springsteen - Live In Dublin (The Seeger Sessions)

Ive been meaning to pick up the Seeger Sessions for a while now and just never think of it when I'm in the store. I've heard a couple of cuts on Outlaw Country on the Sirius radio it sounds pretty good

Let us know what you think about it Patrick

Picked up a copy of "The Best of Sugar Ray" a few weeks ago and just got around to listening to the whole disc.

I liked their covers of Cyndi Lauper's, "Time After Time" and Joe Jackson's, "Is She Really Going Out With Him?".

Overall I enjoyed most of the selections, but did not like the song "Psychedelic Bee", that could have been left off the compilation.

You mean Cyndi Lauper's cover of the Hooter's Time after Time... ;)

Yes, yes you are correct...but not many people remember the Hooters, and they definitely remember Cyndi.

I'm bustin..... I actually have met guys from the Hooters a bunch of times as they are Philly boys.

Love the Hooters!

I just got 5 new CDs in yesterday, stuff to augment my collection.

Kiss - The Very Best Of
Norah Jones - Come Away With Me
B-52's - Time Capsule
Joe Cocker - Ultimate Collection
Monkee's - Greatest Hits

So, what am I listening to?

Back In The New York Groove - Ace and Friends

You know that Daydream Believer is next :)

Got the Statler Bros comps on. Happy songs... harmony and real musicians and vocals. And it's got a dance beat. :)

Man, why isn't music like this being made anymore?

Cuz most of the peole who like it, or made it, have passed on? :sqerr::sqlaugh:

Well... we haven't all passed on yet, lol. :D

For my part I think it's sad that the Statlers retired. They did something no one else did ~ they brought the barbershop quartet style of vocals to the mainstream.

Radio was fun and enjoyable in those days. Even AM radio played real music. Fancy that...

Mashups:

Shake that Country Ass (Eminem Vs. John Denver)
Say it Sweet (Nelly Furtado Vs. Eurithmics)
If I can't Rock & Roll (Joan Jett Vs. 50 Cent)
Cali Wonderwall (Tupac Dr Dre Vs. Oasis)

2 Live Crew "Nasty As They Wanna Be"

Thanks to Jtnichols, For sending me his unused copy.

He started the ODJT "community record pool"

Been a heck of a day, so let's kick it off in 'good' fashion :)

Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be - AC/DC

Unless you have "A Whole Lotta Rosie"! :sqerr:
