Oh, it's me is it. If I want to get blamed for something I didn't do, I'll just go back to Prodj. :sqlaugh:

just to let everybody know, all of the direct mailers i started at the first of the year are finally working...booked my first party on tuesday and receiving more calls about the bubble parties..i'm going to remail to the same addresses, again, this weekend..i'm offering 3 prices for my parties if within 25 miles...$150 just music and bubbles...$175 music, bubbles and giveaways(bubble juice necklesses and prizes for contests)..$195 music, bubbles, giveaways and blowup games(ring toss, duckie pond, etc) once the word gets out and demand increases, so does the price...any party over 25 miles is a $25 upcharge to the client..i'll get a picture of SMOKE dressed in her BUBBLE PRINCESS costume and post it shortly( it's awesome!!)

I was investigating the bubble party venture and I saw that the age range is 3-6 y/o.

Have you ever done a party for older than that?

I have a niece who will be turning 10 in June and wonder if a bubble party would work for that age of girls at a birthday party?

Thanks!

I Just did my first one in connection with a regular party. I spread out the bubles in 15 minute increments. Throughout the 3 hour affair. It was just the right amount for the bigger kids to have fun as well as the little kids.

I was investigating the bubble party venture and I saw that the age range is 3-6 y/o....

Thanks!

I have, but I focus less on bubbles and more on other games like parachute games, sack races, spoon and egg races.... bubbles are not the main attraction...

So, last night I get home, and didn''t notice that my mother had wriiten a note to me and left it on my desk... I see it this morning.... Not much of a message, but a good one:

The Goddard School called and wants to see if you can do a few parties for them.... Now, I don't know, but I think that they are even bigger than the chain I mentioned in this thread:

Our DJ Talk - DJ Help and Resources Chat!

And, this, is the beauty of doing bubble parties..... far more referrals than other types of events, and the abiility to book so many at one time.

Also, I never did a bubble party for the Goddard Schools, but I have DJ'd two private parties AT Goddard schools. Yep, people hire DJ's to do birthday parties and such AT daycares.

I just booked a Day Care Graduation today.... and then upsold an added Bubble Party.... I probably took $25 less than I should have, BUT now I know that I'll be performing in front of all the moms and dads at graduation!

If you guys don't mind sharing, what are you charging for a 1 hour party?...

Daycare... $195

Private... $225 and up.

We're charging anywhere from $100 to $200 per daycare depending on the school and location. Some schools are low income. We're giving discounts for multiple bookings too. We've also booked some glow parties as well which are more money. Our biggest competition here are the swimming pools, water parks and movie theatres. They smoke the daycares some great deals so we have to compete with them...being it gets "Africa hot" during the summer. We're finding that these parties are spreading like wildfire through many of the corporate type daycares...it's like being on a vendor list.

We haven't done private parties yet..we're keeping the bubble partiess for mainly the weekdays.

Traffic, I was surprised at something I learned from a daycare last week. They were calling around to find a one hour event and they said that some companies were charging up to $550 for such an event... like one science center wanted $550 to come out and do a one hour show.

The lady in charge also told me that she had TONS of people in the $300 - $400 range, and that she could not afford that. But she also told me that "I" should probably be charging a little more than I am... I'm not greedy... $195 is fine. And, like you, we offer discounts for multiple bookings.

Later on this week I will know if I booked the 41 parties for this year and next.

I wonder if it's a location thing too. That may be the reason in the price difference. We know some of the schools were dumping some of the overpriced vendors that were charging over $200. We just wanted to get out there and get our feet wet. My wife has also been selling our DJ services for upcoming carnivals and school festivals...so we'll make up some of the money on the back end. By the way..she just called..another school is booking 2 more parties.
