Suggestions for a corded microphone.

Let me please say this. I decided to accept doing this show for this promoter. I was never crazy about doing the event because I didn't know who those guys were providing the system. I don't like dealing with a DJs equipment I don't know. I don't know if the equipment is going to be high quality gear or entry level junk. Besides that what if there's a situation where something goes wrong with their equipment? We could be the escape goats for their equipment messing up.

My friends I know who DJ are excellent DJs who only use high quality equipment. I know I'm not worried about their equipment having failures.

To be fair those guys were using equipment that I would be proud to say was mine.

If you already have a Shure SM58 use that. If there's just one singer use a reliable wireless. Even the DJ class PG48 mics would work fine.

Any cardioid hand held will work just fine. (Mic selection is pretty far down on this list on how to deal with a singer.)

I just ask this question because of what a true human singer might desire to use to sing and not a Karaoke singer from around the corner.

Good point Pro !
If you do not how to set up an audio chain and know about unity gain & understand over modulation / distortion and the use of a compressed / limited / gate along with an EQ no Mic is going to help you.

As has been said a Shure SM 58 will never get complaints from anyone.

Yes there are other mics out there but unless you have a singer that requests a certain mic, and you are making more than enough money for that show to justify it, a 58 is all you will ever need in a "corded" mic.
