I may be partially or fully off my rocker but I could swear I heard somewhere that where there is any type of trip hazard, you must use orange per OSHA regulations.

Maybe I dreamed it or something but it came to mind when this thread popped up.

Good point.

All my black cords are run from light fixtures under the table to the controller. The black are easier to hide with the black truss.

All other cords that might be hazardous are safety orange.

Ok, I confess...I also have blue, yellow, tan and green....One can never have enough extension cords! :D

I have a few 100' cords which are Red for visibility other than that 75 and shorter all black with hospital connectors. Or my two flat adjust ables. and a few full on black three otulet extensions other than the three control units. which cover around 20-25 ft.

I purchased several Black cords from Ben @ NorthernLightFX. I bought 15', 20' 25', 50' lengths that He made up for me, very reasonably priced.

I use the Black cables with the clear end that had a indicator light inside telling you it's on.

I buy all my electrical cables at Lowes or Home Depot. They seem to be reasonable.

I was at both of those places, Cam... The longest I saw in black was 10 or 12 feet... I LOVE the ones with an indicator light! I even use those at home.

Papa,

Do you have an idea of how many cords you'll need/Want???

An idea i had, was maybe i could get a great price on cable, if i bought a really big spool???? Say 1000 feet min???

Does anyone else need some really nice black cables???
If enough people have a need, we all might save some bucks!!

I guess I would want ( 3 ) 25 footers and ( 1 ) 50.... but shipping those bad boys is expensive..... But I be thrilled to find some TOP NOTCH cables. The ones I have are homemade and I feel like I need some new quality ones.

I'll have my electrician buddy check on some prices for me using there company accounts.

I'll get back to you on this.

I buy left over dark green 10, 15, 25 and sometimes 50, 75 and 100 foot extension cords every year after christmas. These are normally fine for OUTDOOR use, but the thicker gauges aren't available every year.

Big thing thought is that I realize that they are consumer grade and need to be inspected regularly and replaced if needed.

But ya know what - it's cheap and looks good.

Anything, Bob?

I was at Lowes and HD.... still didn't see any black ones except short ones.
