Popular but UGHH

Ones that I will play but I really hate:

Dancing Queen
Girls just want to have fun
Macarena

I just can't play
Chicken Dance

Haven't even considered Miley...oh my... but then line dancing is a winner.

At weddings I do take requests, for a $20 Tip - ALL Tips going to the bride and groom... that keeps them serious and the small kids from swarming with silly requests.

Poker Face. I can't tell you how many times I have that song in my head when I wake up!!

Poker face?......I don't even know her name? :sqlaugh:

Pity me 'cause the "kiddies" in da club love it so much I have 12 versions of it!

Don't want to complete derail this thread, but I have to ask: do the bride and groom know about this before hand? Because I know I would be pretty pissed if in the middle of my reception I got word the DJ was demanding a tip for requests.

Oh of course

Oh yes - agreed to ahead of time with the couple - they set the price -announced in fun at the beginning of the night-ALL Money goes to them NOT ME - it is a way to 'donate in fun' to starting the couple off. Sometimes when people get drunk they'll start outbidding each other in how much they can give and the couple end up raising a ton.

This is done only occasionally but it can be quite fun as the grand parents get up and give a $50 to hear Tennessee Waltz....

Otherwise - I do not encourage request cause they typically are not good and if you have a bunch of <10 yr old kids - they line up and get out of control - just me:sqerr:
