Song Needed...Any Suggestions???

So, my wedding for this Saturday finally decided on a Mother/Son song. Mom saw it on You Tube. Yep. you guessed it - "I will always be your mother" by Lynn Leonti.

I absolutely abhor this utter crap of a song, but at the same time, never want to let my clients down. I see the song is available as a CD purchase, but c'mon, even T.Carter sh!t is available as an MP3 download? Any suggestions out there?

Thanks!

Thanks. I will purchase the CD, but still not sure it it will arrive in one day. It appears from the website that the only guaranteed delivery is 1-2 days. Well, 2 days just won't cut it at this point.

That's exactly what you tell your client. Last minute gets as last minute does.

Not your problem.

I understand and agree with not wanting to let your clients down. But if it's not possible, based on the time you've been given, that's the reality. If they have it, and you can use their copy, do that, but explain the manner in which this song is sold and the amount of time between now and their wedding, it's not possible.

this is exactly why I state in my meetings and in my contract they must give me a must play or significant song title for the traditional portions one week in advance to insure I have the option to gain it. This way it shows you are all about satisfying their needs and song wishes.

Do yourself a favor and in the future, change your contract. Ours states:

18. Because of the performance system used by Sights and Sounds, no music not already contained in Sights and Sounds’ music library will be played. All music selection requests must be provided to Sights and Sounds no later than 3 days prior to your event in order to insure these selections will be available on your date.

also, we lock the clients out of their online log in 3 days prior to the event.

Thanks All. I actually lock my clients out 7 days before their event, and an email goes out 6 weeks before their event informing them of this, as well as to schedule a final meeting.

Clients are also well aware that any "hard to find" songs must be provided to me in advance (not day of). Sometimes though, not often, we all get clients that are last minute about one thing or another. I knew about this song in the past, normally would have bought it, but I thought the song was such a piece of garbage, that I didn't want to support this 'artist' at all unless needed!

So, you knew about it in advance, but didn't buy it? Did I read that correctly?

If so, why not??

UPDATE: I had an entire post dedicated to my frustration with these online "artists", and how I despise their music, but guess what???

I e-mail Lynn today, and she emails me back within an hour. I have nothing but great things to say about her concern for my situation, and her willingness to help me out. I now have the song in my possession, and for her kindness, I went ahead and ordered all 3 songs from her website ($25). I'm still not sold on the song, but I am sold on the fact that she went above and beyond to help me out!

I always seem to hear about jocks who are in a panic to get these songs.
I can only imagine you were NOT the first one to call just days before in a panic.
so these online artists probably make most of their money last minute.

and you are absolutely correct
they may be very willing to work with you in a pinch...
but how else would they make money off of their smelly, disease-ridden, fat hunks of pure cheese?

(I'm sorry, did that come off as BITTER?)
