I recently did a Showcase for Sweet 16 & Bat Mitzvahs. A competitor DJ Company one of these Lycra Panel Facades from XXXX.com.
I was really taken with it, and sought to purchase one.
The price? $360
The problem? 4 week wait to get one , plus shipping costs.
The Solution? Make my own!
Here is my process for constructing the 48" by 9 foot illuminated DJ facade
It took a bit of figuring out.
The Lycra Panel is produced on Window Screen framing, and then inserted into a cutout in the wood facade frame.
This way, you can replace the Lycra easily should it get dirty or damaged.
