I might be getting a small prom in a mountain community. I figure 150-300 students. This is a home school situation. I feel very comfortable in the genre in which the lady I talked to asked about. Here is my question, I have never done a prom before. I do feel that I could do this and do a good job for them. I have done some other teen events (Birthday parties). Should I tell them I have never done a prom before. Or should I only tell them unless they ask. They have always dones this for themselves in the past. But they want a DJ with better equipment , music etc etc. If you guys so send her and email and tell her. Then I'm going to do it. If you so don't unless they ask then thats what I'll do. I personally feel that working with the person in charge and finding out what music these kids mostly want (hip hop) a very good genere for me. That I could do a great job for them. But I want your advice.

Tell them if they ask; even if they ask, emphasise the experience that you DO have, and how you will utilise it.

Considering what they have done in the past, they are automatically getting a better product. I would guess that, unless they specify otherwise, they are not expect the parting of the seas--just a good DJ.
