After comparisons I'm wondering if I should upgrade my facade to something more opaque.

Btw, I'm seeing a lot of wireless speakers here and wondering what you guys are using?

Well... Nothing wrong with your facade, but you certainly wouldn't wanna get naked behind it[emoji1]... Maybe install some mini blinds.[emoji1]

it's transparent, but all you need to do is take the time to zip tie, velcro and basically get cable management under control.

I will play( threat of weather was the reason why the speakers were tucked in)

Random question... but do you use your crossfader to mix at all? It looks like you're using primarily the up faders based on how you have the mixer set up. But your contour is in a funky spot where you're not a full volume with the fader in the middle. I'd consider moving to a sharper cut on your cross fader if you mix with it in the middle. Or, just set your channels to "Thru" so they aren't affected by it.

When the rooms get dark, your front board is probably less see-through. But yes, I might consider a heavier fabric behind it just as a quick fix if you don't want to replace it.

I personally use Shure SLX units for my wireless speaker set ups. And I use them constantly.

Mix, not trying to be funny... but is that your setup?

If so, the answer to where he found that picture is quite easy. It is ALL OVER THE INTERNET, mostly under dj sites that talk about cheap dj's vs good dj's and what to expect from a craigslist dj. And no not forums... actual dj's warning clients to stay away from dj's with setups like that.

Not any more. That was when I was using CDs and the player was a Numark CDN 88. That was a favor for school where I worked at the time. The only thing I have left from that setup is a QSC 2450. Everything else got sold years ago.

I guess that confirms we have an internet celebrity among us ... :)

When I mix yes, I wasnt doing any mixing at that wedding and I was not running full anything considering the location and the client request that I keep the volume at like a cocktail hour level.

Gives you an idea.

I had to convince the client, coordinator, and even venue to let me the setup like this as they were concerned my setup would take over and ruin the pretty look. I discussed with them the positives and negatives, and was very honest. They thought I was crazy, and were like, okayyyy...!?!?

When the client came over before the wedding reception, she was amazed on how well my DJ table, speakers, and cable management didn't obtrude She told me at the end of the night how happy she was that I convinced her.

I know I am OCD on cable management, but I love knowing that my setup is nearly invisible, even from the back, in which there were several tables.

You should have put umbrellas over the L1s .. they would have blended in with the heaters ... :)

What I do want to make it even better--

There is a company, well one specifically that makes affordable, but high-quality molded plastic cable covers so that instead of using mats like I did for the power (as you can see in the picture), it's a cleaner look. Let me know if you know of any.

For the L1 to L1 signal, I hid the combo cable under the edge of the dancefloor, but knowing that I could go wireless is amazing with the new Yeti Battery/Shure Wireless setup.
