Actually just spent my morning "flipping" through the manual...very nicely done.

And hey, as I was typing this FedEx showed up with my new Turtle Beach soundcards...time to set up my rig.

Which TB cards did you get? I was thinking of ordering one...

I got the Audio Advantage Micro.
I liked the small size, and when looking at the larger ones, I didn't think I needed any of the additional features.

That's the one I use....it's great!

BTW Rick...I did read most of the manual...it's great!

I have printed the manual out, so that I can take it to work and read it when I'm sober! :sqwink:

I'm working on one of those 5 Liter "mini-kegs" and don't think it would make much sense to me right now. :D

Actually, it might make even more sense... :sqlaugh:

Honestly, after two years of solid work, I'm not even sure what it can do :sqerr:

I know it plays well and solid, but I may have left some commands in there that do weird things... :sqeek: :sqwink:

How shall I say it... :sqerr:

If you look in the comments in the skin and INI files, you may find some weird stuff.........................................................................

Hey, I had beer, and played around a bit

Most of the wiki-wiki stuff I played with, I disabled before release, but there might be some left in there. I wasn't satisfied with the results 100%, so that's why I disabled most of it.

That will come with the next upgrade.

Play if you like -- but the results may vary... :sqlaugh:

I'm already working on 4.1 -- Send the French Fries Packing -- WOO-HOO!

Tip # 3 - A Biggie Too!

I just spent about 5 hours debugging an issue with a customer's library.

Turns out, it was one of those MP3s available on the internet on peer-to-peer programs, that had an error put in purposely. Probably by the record company or the RIAA. The courts have allowed them to do this.

I'm a fairly nice guy, and certainly not a music cop. Where you get your music, is your business.

But, I will not waste time doing support, because somebody was too cheap to get their music from a reliable source... :sqwink:

The new version of Rockit uses a whole new library subsystem, and it complies with established standards. If you break it, because you downloaded some dubious files off Limewire, or one of the other peer-to-peer networks, it is your responsibility to fix it.

I will now climb down from my soapbox, and get back to building some cool new skins

If you were referring to me and my library, you are so wrong! All my music has been bought and paid for, with blood, sweat and tears! I'm still working on the reason I can't seem to pull everything up, just because I'm curious, not because I need it.

Are you having a problem when you add the tracks to the library initially?

I originally though you were talking about the search within Rockit, once the tracks were already added.

If so, does the exception button get enabled after the add?

Without it here in front of me, this all by memory...

Initially starting it up, I got a pop-up box that was for the library search engine (I think) that prompted me for a location to search. I went thru the prompts and started using Rockit. The library that it created looked accrurate and complete. I decided to do some testing of the search engine, so I looked down thru my list for an artist with several songs.....searched that artist, but not all the songs pulled into the search. It may be tagging, I haven't dug into that far.

Here's what I would do, when you have some time...

Go into the Library Manager, Library Manager tab, and create a new test library to work with, and switch to that library. Go to the Track Manager tab, and fire up the Wiz (he's the same guy you saw on initial load).

Do the add to the new test library, and see if the Exception button becomes enabled after it has added all the songs. If so, you will see any tracks that couldn't be added, and the programs best guess at why.

If the Exception button doesn't enable after the add, then it means that everything was added ok, and if you can't find the tracks yer looking for, then it probably has to do with the tags in those particular files, and you can find them in various ways, and then edit the tags with our Tag Editor. :)

Here ya go Booch!

I'm reading the Rockit manual that I printed out... :)

What? No Rockit posts today?

Booch

I thought I'd cut you guys some slack for a day or two :sqlaugh:

Actually, I'm taking a few days off, drinking lots of beer, and babbling nonsensically with the guys and gals here :)

Still have to take all the support calls and emails, and the usual stuff that goes with a new release -- but trying to take it easy at the same time...

I am working on and off on some new skins though -- hope to have one or two out next week...
