RIP Steve...

... Steven Montambault, 60 years young. By all accounts, a better man than me - the true Spirit and Soul of what ODJT used to be...
Used to be???... Yes... membership has changed through the years. DJ’s have come and gone, and the forum has changed pretty much the way the rest of the country (and even the world) has changed. We could not keep the forum the way it was 10 years ago, even if we wanted to. Steve was indeed the spirit and soul of ODJT. He was probably the most prolific poster of any member ever, and I don’t remember Steve ever posting a bad word about anybody, even in the heat of an intense debate. We all could take a queue from that. Maybe there will never be another member who makes as big of an impact on this forum as Steve, but if the forum continues on over the coming years, you never know how it will evolve and who will step up. It might be MIX???😂

This forum is the last of its breed, mostly because we, the remaining members, are the last of our breed.

Just as this forum has morphed to adapt to the times, haven't we all done so too? It is an example of vision, flexibility, great leadership, and compromise. Again, isn't that all of us too?

Steve was an integral force, although hardly forceful, in keeping super charged tsunamis from swamping this ship.

The last person standing here will still remember your legacy, Steve, just as it should be.

This forum has always been lucky to have standout people like Steve around. Some like JTV and Softjock Rick were a little more over the top, Folks like Cap, Scott Hanna, SVO, Ittiger who were a lot more laid back and even guys like Rocky and Proformance who added flavour in their own right. There are many more. Rick once said this place is like a bar just a great place to come hang out with your friends and shoot the s**t. Sometimes we even talk abut DJ stuff ;) I think it's more like a dysfunctional dinner table. Occasionally you get some mashed potatoes in the head but we all look out for each other.

As an example of what Steve meant to this forum look at these stats. I was here 5 or more years before Steve I am here pretty much every day his reaction score is 2.5X mine and over 8000 more posts than me. To add to that most of Steve's posts added more than mine to the forum. Steve was the ultimate moderator he was fair concise and always here. It wasn't unusual to see him at very odd hours. On the day I was heading for my stents it was about 4AM I was getting up and did my usual morning routine of logging in and checking he messaged me knowing I was going and said get off here go get healthy we can handle it. That was Steve

I will be sending a donation to the scholarship fund on behalf of ODJT if anyone can make it to the visitation please send my condolences

Actually, I don’t think he was joking about the kilt most of the time. I think he really thought you were pretty cute in a skirt.😂...

...Based on this photo, I’d say he was right!😉

I think you may be on to something!

I published it in an earlier post. Heart. He wasn't feeling well. Got angioplasty on 4/22. That wasn't enough so they put in two stents. His heart was still only working at 30%. He never recovered from the procedures.

Wow. This is very sad. Unfortunate that all of this occurred so fast! :(

It was actually likely a long process he had no idea was happening. The heart trouble I had was almost identical to what Steve went through. My heart failure they think was caused by Shingles I had in 2017. After the Shingles I felt constantly lethargic was short on breath and had a constant cough. I was at one point diagnosed with Pneumonia they gave me steroids I felt good for 2 weeks and it started again. I went to ER a specialist seen me and diagnosed with heart failure and a blockage like Steve. I had the same heart function 30% and 15% EF. I would have never guessed it was heart I suspect that Steve likely went through the same symptoms and as I did passed it off

Jeff, I'd like to donate to the odjt fund that is going to the scholarship fund in Steve's name. No need to take it all out of the millions from the cash cow that is odjt😄(sorry, I'm Irish, when we go to a funeral, we drink and laugh. When I go, you bastards better have a drink and a laugh for me!)

But I was serious about the donation

Same here, I think this song is fitting, and I plan on having it played at mine. Take a listen!

I'd like to participate too. Is there an easy way for you to set up a Paypal link or something?

Thanks guys that's very kind. I'll set something up on my personal Paypal to avoid fees if you're comfortable with that

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this I was waiting on confirmation from the bank that they would accept an international transaction sometimes that's a problem with money transfers and banks. If you guys haven't done it yet and are still interested my personal paypal (to avoid fees) is [email protected]. If you do post here or shoot me a message that you did

Thanks Jeff. I'm a little behind, but money sent. If you've already sent it, keep it for odjt. Or buy some beer. Steve would have liked that.
