Keith Alan posted on Facebook tonight that Steve Montambault (steve149 here on ODJT) passed this weekend. Shine on, you crazy diamond... :(

OMG! He is only two years older than me. We went to the same school and I went to many parties at his fraternity. We also worked at HP (different divisions) but we had many similar experiences. What a loss! Does anyone know what happened? There have been a few posts to his FB page but no details.

I`m sitting here holding back tears. I had noticed he wasn't around for a few days but that`s not really unusual. Steve was a real good guy RIP old buddy

Too early for his passing. A true music enthusiast. Hard to believe he is gone. We will miss his on-line personality and commentary of technical issues. Hope for his family during their time of need. Rest in Peace Steve. It was my privilege to have associated with you.

Condolences to Steve's family. This is a real eye opener for me. He seemed to be a healthy/fit guy, and not old. He didn't even get to become a senior citizen and retire. Just goes to show that our end time could be any time. ☹

Right on - life can change in a blink. Be Kind, have Fun, do some Good, and don't spend too much time in the Zoo.

When someone we know dies so unexpectedly, it’s always a bit of a shock. However, we all know in our minds that our lifetime is limited. When you reach retirement age, you tend to think about it a little more, yet you still go on. Through the grace of God, and His promise of Salvation and everlasting life, we have hope for the future.

Only met the man in person ONCE...
but enjoyed every word he typed here on ODJT.
Perfect blend of advice when you needed it,
finding bargains when you wanted them...
and a little scolding when you deserved it.
Still shaking my head.
